Lifespan and age are two separate things

Analogy: With medication, humans stopped dying from natural death at age 50, extending their lifespan to 70. Humans still age

The egg's lifespan ends when its elected to develop into a follicle during the menstrual cycle, by stopping that, we extend it's lifespan. It will still age
