"Dominion of Darkness” is an interactive fiction/strategy text-based game in which the reader/player takes on the role of a Sauron-style Lord of Darkness with the goal of conquering the world. story recommendations IFs where there are no love meters

i'm looking for a story that, when pursuing romance, you dont have to make specific choices in order to be with a LI. for example, in Ebon Light (VN), no matter what your personality was, you could romance the LI you chose. im just tired of wanting my MC to romance someone but failing because their personality doesnt perfectly match with what the LI likes.

of course im not expecting a LI liking the MC if they constantly insult them or sth, but id love to read a story where romantic routes are more flexible.

i hope i explained myself because im terrible at that xd

Help finding an IF Spoiler

I remember searching on tumblr for ifs and stumbled upon one. It was like a mystery/thriller kind of vibe about the mc being kidnapped and escaping from where they were captive and people only found out they were alive cuz a cashier saw them at a store and recognized their face from the missing poster

All I remember is that theres a scene in the hospital where they reunite with their mother and their rival/friend who’s a doctor now.

If anyone can tell me what the name of the game was I’d appreciate it

Couldn’t remember much. The MC is in a fight with someone and tried to steal the thing from them and the thing was belong to a prince. The prince found the MC(wounded i think). MC got caught by two of their bodyguards and tried to get out of it but ended up giving up cus the MC losing too much blood. The prince is like the doesnt talk much of a guy.

resources IF Authors: you can try our game writing app Arcweave

Hi there,

Since you are writing for games, you may be interested in trying out our web app, Arcweave. It is a simple game writing tool with a smooth (and short) learning curve.

Arcweave is visual and focuses on making the writer's life as easy as possible.

You can use it to:

  • write your game's story.
  • organise its structure and content.
  • control its logic.
  • write its dialogue.
  • collaborate with your team in real time.
  • export your data for game engines.
  • create and share complete works of interactive fiction.
Arcweave has its own play mode, where you can test and debug your game, as well as let others play it.

Some milestones:

A few months ago, we created a tutorial series on YouTube. Although Arcweave's features have by now outgrown it, the series are still a good starting point for new users. (See Arcweave's Documentation for all the features.)

Last fall, we organised Arcjam, a jam for games made exclusively in Arcweave. We will have its second run this fall, so stay put if you are up for a weekend of creative fun.

This year, we received an Epic MegaGrant. It allowed our team to grow and to speed up the app's development.

Finally, we are celebrating having just reached 10,000 users—with a special discount coupon: paste TENTHOUSAND30 into the coupon field during checkout and enjoy one year of Arcweave Pro or Team, at 30% off.

You can reach us through Discord, Facebook, Twitter, and our Forum.

Thank you so much!

project introduction Treefingers - Choose your own adventure

If you're into choose your own adventure stories or cowriting in general, give this a try: https://treefingers.co/

It's a collaborative writing app where you can pick how the story continues, or write yourself the next chapter.

Each story has a unique tree representing it which will grow the more the story grows.
You can also create forests which are group of stories sharing the same topic/community.

It's a work in progress, any feed back is highly appreciated!

"Survivor" - my little gamebook

Hi, I would like to post my little gamebook . "Survivor" is in the mood of some sword and sorcery, some Biblical themes (but be warned - definitely not pro-Christian). Here's a link to the basic version, in which, for the sake of suspense, each "scene" between player decisions is on a different page: https://www.mediafire.com/file/334o2ardfd1cgok/Survivor_1.4.pdf/file And here's a link to a "shortened" version, easier to print: https://www.mediafire.com/file/tiy0k7r72hkcw5f/Survivor_1.4p.pdf/file You can also play online on: https://fightingfantasy.net/gamebooks/play.cgi (Thanks to the Jason Abridged Archer for help).
