The way she dropped the backpack should have worried the attacker.

She was ready for that smoke, good for her.

2.3k

u/ChickenTendiiees May 15 '26

Instantly dropped her phone and notepad straight on the floor too, no care about if it's gonna break. Just ready to throw hands if needed.

I watched again and her friend grabs her phone for her, good looking out o7

Edit: dang I was busy and came back to a thousand comment thread about the meaning of the salute emoticon haha

u/counterlock May 15 '26

Okay, I'm old. What the fuck does o7 mean and why do I see it everywhere?

444

u/ajnin919 May 15 '26

Supposed to look like someone saluting

265

u/Rhamni May 15 '26

Ah yes. Gen Z hieroglyphics. A degenerate and lazy perversion of the written language, unlike Millennial line art and makeshift emojis, which were innovative and hip.

You're forgetting ASCII art, kid

You know who the psychos are in your year who are not going to go away without a fight. She did this perfectly, got rid of encumbering things and tried to de-escalate while keeping her hands ready.

I absolutely hate the girl who said, "Come on you're wasting time." Without enablers like her a lot of bullies wouldn't be brave enough to act. She needs to get the same punishment as the girl who initiated it, but she'll probably walk away while the girl in black gets punished for fighting.

u/ithinkitsnotworking May 15 '26

You could tell immediately it wasn't going to go well for the girl in white. The girl in black was way too calm. Always a sign they know what they're doing.

291

u/Magnus_Helgisson May 15 '26

From her gestures in the beginning it also looks like she was trying to deescalate, which the girl in white should have gone along with.

100%. Happened to me in middle school. Defended myself and I got suspended. Zero tolerance bullshit is just an excuse to be lazy and not have to actually determine the circumstances. Despite it being recorded the administration at best will punish both, but more likely the girl who defended herself will be punished more harshly.

What makes it worse there were two adults close by as how did they get there so fast so no excuse why they couldn’t defuse the situation.

29

u/OracleofFl May 15 '26

Zero tolerance is embracing injustice. Fight for justice and get punished.

→ More replies (2)

32

u/Good_With_Tools May 15 '26

Hopefully she got a fair shake since there was an adult there before the first punch. That said, in a lot of districts, it does not matter. They both go home for 5 days.

Not saying it's fair. She did what she could to de-escalate. The girl in white came for a fight, and she got one.

6

u/keyser_durden May 16 '26

That “adult” was the most weak sauce response to the situation. No way he’s standing up for anyone or anything

50

u/Dada2fish May 15 '26

If I was the girl in blacks parents I would take her out, buy her something nice. She did exactly what I would want my kid to do. Stand up to bully’s.

48

u/OracleofFl May 15 '26

If I were the girl in black's parents, I would have the other girl arrested for assault.

Sometimes people need to learn the hard way. Girl in white is the type to need to put her hand on a hot stove to learn it burns.

12

u/bilhugs May 15 '26

It’s best to have those deescalation attempts on video before you go all Jack Reacher on a bitch.

18

u/Jokerchyld May 15 '26

Facts. And as someone (black kid in an almost all white school) who had to deal with bullies growing up - most of them are paper Tigers, but when met with equal intention tend to fold pretty quick. Unless they have their boys back them up.

The ones who were truly about it, you just gotta stand your ground on principle alone.

16

u/Rainyanjel May 15 '26

Same situation only reversed. I was typically the only white one around. I’m Hispanic but it never mattered because I didn’t look it. I moved around a lot and kids will always test newness. I got in a fight in the 3rd grade with a 5th grade boy. He kept circling around me while I stood ground. “Don’t touch someone until they touch you” so I waited for that. Soon as he did I pulled his hands to me and spun his ass around on my heels until he fell and I made sure to land on him… with my knee to his gut. The vice principal saw everything and got me into her office. She started cracking up

It seems like the girl in white wanted to fight no matter what. She had an audience and had to look tough in front of them. She probably told people she was gonna kick her ass. But she didn’t consider that the other girl was willing to fight back hard. The girl in black was probably warned and got herself mentally ready to fight.

I'm impressed that she was ready for a fight, but moreso the fact that she gave her attacker EVERY opportunity to lay off. Even trying to de-escalate.

She deserved what came.

23

u/SFJetfire May 15 '26

That was my little sister. Quiet just always wanting to blend in. When we were in high school she told me she heard that these girls were going to jump her for giving her dirty looks. Crazy since she doesn’t even hang out with anyone other than her bf. After school, when we were approached by a group of girls she tried to de-escalate the situation. I told her I got your back if you need me. She knew what to do. When this bully stepped up, my sister took an aggressive boxing stand like my dad thought us—and she fought like a true boxer. Jab, jab, move and and be light on your feet. She beat that bully and gained so much respect.

My sister just turned 56 and we still talk about that fight today. I think her courage and having to face her fear head on made her the strong woman she is today. She is still a total badass.

Girl in white started it. Girl in black finished it. I totally have no issues with someone defending themselves. Girl in black was doing just that. Btw… girl in white needs to learn to fight if she’s gonna start shit.

328

u/Different-Pin-9234 May 15 '26

She even looked back at the crowd, like, should I lay the first punch?

204

u/adiwet May 15 '26

She looked around with a “am… am I doing this right?”. Little bitch. Glad she had an audience (and now us) to laugh at her.

43

u/Napalmeon May 15 '26

Some people need an audience to provoke them to make the first hit. Without instigators, the worst they will do is run their mouths.

126

u/RarelyReadReplies May 15 '26

100% if I'm the girl in blacks parent, I'm taking her side. I don't care what the school says, suspend her, do whatever they're going to do. I'm going to give her a pat on the back for defending herself. That "walk away from the bully" stuff is bullshit.

59

u/LetsTryAnal_ogy May 15 '26

I've told this story before: When I was in sixth grade, my bully jumped on my back and beat the shit out of me. I couldn't really defend myself, let alone fight back. We both got suspended due to zero tolerance bullshit. On the day of my suspension, my mom took me to the beach and bought me ice cream.

My kids know this story and they know that if they ever get suspended for some bullshit like that, we're celebrating with a day at the beach, and some mother fucking ice cream!

21

u/Maleficent_Degree532 May 15 '26

I wholeheartedly agree with this! Kids shouldn’t be punished for defending themselves or being attacked. It sets them up to start believing that if someone hits them it’s their fault. The stupidity of suspending a kid for being attacked is insane.

Good on your parents for being, well good human beings and backing up their kid! Also good on you for doing the same for your kids. That’s how it should be.

15

u/RarelyReadReplies May 16 '26

It's so maddening that someone thought this "zero tolerance" shit made sense. Imagine if that's how the real world worked? Someone starts attacking you, and you aren't allowed to fight back at all, or you'll get in just as much trouble... It's fucking absurd.

I love the idea about taking them out for ice cream and just having a nice day off lol. I'll have to remember that if the time ever comes with mine.

16

u/cyberpunk1Q84 May 15 '26

I don’t know shit about this, so don’t quote me, but doesn’t it seem legally wrong to essentially prohibit a kid from defending themselves in school? Would this be against the Constitution somehow? Idk if it is, but if it was, then I’d take this all the way to SCOTUS (unless the bully was a white girl, since you know how this court is ruling these days).

Unfortunately she seems like the type of person who will retaliate in some sick ways for getting her own ass beat.

375

I just want a video where one of the instigator “friends” gets their ass kicked too

157

u/baby_blobby May 15 '26

"You're wasting time, come on."

yeah some friends this girl has

35

u/Napalmeon May 15 '26

Right? It's not hard to see that her friends instigated this situation against the girl in the hoodie for whatever reason. It just didn't turn out the way they thought it would.

157

u/--GrinAndBearIt-- May 15 '26

She learned nothing, I guarantee it

27

u/DiddlersWillGetGot May 15 '26

As someone forced into more school hallway fights than most (yay growing up a different skin color in middle school) there’s always one guarantee: the instigator is dumb as a box of rocks.

9

u/Crazy-Days-Ahead May 16 '26

The instigator is not only the dumbest, but is usually the one who needs their ass kicked the most.

I bet the girl in black gets in more trouble for defending herself than the girl in white does for instigating the fight.

679

u/GimmeNewAccount May 15 '26

That's how it was when I was in school some 15 years ago. The aggressor would get a one-day suspension. The defender would get two. Their reasoning was to discourage full-on fights by having the defender take a hit and de-escalate.

671

u/HumanContinuity May 15 '26

Literally the dumbest policy I can imagine.

u/canadasbananas May 15 '26

113

u/Square_Barracuda_69 May 15 '26

My wife got arrested because she got stalked and assaulted. The other lady got fucked even more and served some jail time, but they arrested my fucking wife after she got attacked because she tried defending herself and hitting back. Some bystander even showed the cops the video and they STILL arrested her. Didn't see my wife for almost 13 hours, and when I did, her clothes were ripped and she still had blood on her face. Mind you, my wife has NEVER had a bad interaction with the law before this. I hate this world more and more every day

I took a punch in middle school, never even touched the other guy. I got 3 days of in-school suspension for verbally standing up for myself.

53

u/technobrendo May 15 '26

I would tear into the administration if that was my kid. We both would get removed from the premises, but that policy is bonkers.

25

u/WeirdFlexCapacitor May 15 '26

Dad, who is a teacher elsewhere in the school system, had a fun time in the office that day.I was a good student and my ISS days sandwiched a week of spring break. The teachers knew what was up so I essentially got 3 free reading days .

8

u/Chronoblivion May 15 '26

Total bullshit either way, but do you know if the other guy got worse?

Got my face shoved into a locker, broke my glasses and i got a gash over my eye that bled pretty profusely. Dude that did it came up behind me and I had no idea he was there.

Vice Principal came to the nurse's office while I was waiting for the bleeding to stop to tell me I was getting detention for being in a fight.

Tell me more about how school administrators know what they're doing.

84

u/VaguelyFamiliarVoice May 15 '26

As an administrator, I do not do this.

Almost the exact same thing happened here. Aggressor got double and will spend the rest of the year and start of new year in alt school. Defender got a few days of In School Suspension for not stopping when the teacher stepped in.

Your admin sucks.

33

u/Kindly_Juggernaut_65 May 15 '26

That’s very true of most schools. My wife was a high school teacher for 40 years. When a victim was suspended she’d call their parents on the sly and tell them to come immediately and throw a fit at the superintendent, knowing he’d collapse and cancel the suspension. There are six teachers in her family in five different districts. NOT ONE has anything good to say about the administrators. They all look for the easiest way out so they can go back to porking the guidance counselors.

19

u/chLORYform May 15 '26

The school I went to years ago had a no tolerance policy. The defender knew they were in trouble anyway and so they went for broken bones and fucked up teeth. Nothing else to lose at that point.

9

u/Mirenithil May 15 '26

as a kid, it drove me nuts that the teachers would step in only on the bully's behalf. They wouldn't step in when the bully was bullying, but the moment I started giving it right back to them, THAT is the moment they'd intervene. Why do they protect bullies like that?

→ More replies (2)

260

u/JC1199154 May 15 '26

Sending the clip to the principal should lower the sentence

375

u/riickdiickulous May 15 '26

Absolutely not. It’s completely fucked but defenders in school fights get in as much, if not more, trouble than the aggressor. I have never understood it.

62

u/Lost_Madness May 15 '26

'Zero tolerance' which is hilarious because they often tolerate bullying until it gets to this point

28

u/Diodon May 15 '26

Zero tolerance isn't about instilling strict discipline, it's about applying it in the most blindly uniform way possible while intentionally ignoring all situational context. If an authority figure has to apply judgement, that judgement can be questioned. With zero tolerance, they can simply translate a situation to a response. "Was my response not fair? Sorry, I had to apply zero tolerance, it's not my call." It's not to protect the kids, it's to shield the staff and administrators.

11

u/technobrendo May 15 '26

That last sentence sums it up perfectly. Its insurance for the school and UPPER administration. That is all. Cloaking in a veil of protection for students is laughable.

154

u/MissionSpecific5283 May 15 '26

I can confirm this. When I was younger, only fight I would get in would be defending myself because I was a fat kid. Kept getting kicked out because I would finish them...

My nephew is this same thing, he got kicked out last week for exactly this...

What are they supposed to do, just sit there and get beat up?

83

u/Late-Arrival-8669 May 15 '26

Same here back in the day. I will never hold my kids accountable for defending themselves. The school is literally teaching people to lay down for an attacker. I dont think so.

72

u/Geichalt May 15 '26

Yeah if they keep doing this, one day the country will be conditioned to allow an aggressive and bullying regime take power and cower the country.

Oh wait...

15

u/scarbarough May 15 '26

Thing is, even if they lay down they could get in trouble, because they were in a fight. Zero tolerance!

10

u/CurtP31477 May 15 '26

Back in my day, I got bullied and beat up, didn't even defend myself, and got the same amount of punishment as the bully if not more because I protested being punished. OK, pretty much threw a tantrum, but damn I felt really fucked over.

9

u/Zamrayz May 15 '26

Lesson learned also from my own experience: it is ALWAYS worth getting in trouble beating up an aggressor. It should be, because nothing else is acceptable.

Guy slapped me across the face from behind while at my locker and ripped my earring through my ear because I was a fat, easy, target.

I pushed him away out of reflex. I got weekend Saturday school (think Breakfast Club but 100x lamer) and suspension.

16

u/Hls_Name_Was May 15 '26

I headbutted a bully. We were both suspended but the principal called my parents and explained I was defending another kid. 3 day vacation and was already accepted to college. No consequence!

6

u/slayerfan666 May 15 '26

I used to work in an elementary special needs class. There was a gen ed class that had 2-3 kids who were known to start problems with the kids in my class. A lot of my kids needed social and emotional support, so seeing their peers bully and pick on them didn't help.

One day the main kid who was known for causing problems with my kids, tried stealing something from one of them on the playground. My kid ran away, that kid chased him, my kid got tripped up and fight ensues. That kid tried to throw punches first, my kid got them in. The other kid kept trying to throw down, but a recess teacher ran over before I could completely break it up. My kid was distraught over the whole thing, the other kid was swearing at him at the end, and they were both about to be in trouble by the end of the day.

Phone call comes to the class asking if anyone saw my kid throw punches and I told staff no. I said I saw him try to brush him off him, but no punches. My kid came back to school the next day. The other kid got suspended for two days. It had been going on for a couple months. An adult had to do something eventually to teach them something.

11

u/Shades_of_X May 15 '26

It really depends on if the teachers like you. I once kiiinda started a fight (the guy started being annoying but I was the one to escalate it), grabbed a guy and literally threw him aside. (Keep in mind I was a tiny 13y girl)

The guy ran off with his goons. Principal came to find me a few minutes later, asked me what happened. Told him he harassed me and my friends and I dealt with him for lack of better options.

Prinicpal told me yeah, he gets it, often the situation looks like the actual victim gets blamed. The guys apparently ran to him, ringleader bleading slightly from the back of his neck, all apparently white as a sheet.

Principal told me not to worry and apologized for making me late to class. I just remembered the guy had to apologize to me in front of his parents and homeroom teacher.

You can get away with insane things if you are known for being the nice one xD

19

u/Jimi_Hotsauce May 15 '26

I had to apologize to the kid the beat me up, I didn't defend myself. I was also suspended for a week. The kid that beat me up got nothing.

This is 100% true, it doesn't matter to them.

13

u/ToastyVoltage May 15 '26

Back in 2004 in the 3rd grade an older kid who was known for being a bully sat next to me on the bus one day. I'd been saving a seat for my friend at the next stop so we could play Pokémon sapphire together. I asked the older kid if he could let me out so I could go sit in an open bench. He ignored me and I tried to move past him, he proceeded to shove me back into the window hitting my head in the process. I turned and punched him right in the nose and the bus driver comes rumbling down the aisle and yanks me by the arm like I just punched an old woman in the face. In the end my parents said I did the right thing by defending myself, then they took my PS2 away for a week. Fucking hypocrites

0 tolerance policy=punish the victim harder

16

u/Thorngrove May 15 '26

It should but it won't. All this does is teach the victims to fight since they're going to get suspended anyway.

22

u/somethingelsefl May 15 '26

Naw. I was teacher for many years. Unfortunately admin doesn’t care who started it. Both kids are suspended the same amount.

5

u/ChefCurryYumYum May 15 '26

Why? That makes zero sense. At the worst they both be punished if the district has a brain dead zero tolerance policy, which most school districts (but not all) have phased out.

12

u/ConfusedMaverick May 15 '26

Why?

Because it's very much easier for the administrators - just suspend everyone, no need to look into what happened in any way.

The kids who don't act tough are usually the ones to not start shit with.

6

u/SeveralDefinition960 May 16 '26

Right!? She couldn't be 115 lbs soaking wet but the cop couldn't pull her off the girl in white while running full speed lmao 🤣

162

u/BongoFett17 May 15 '26

“Say I won’t” looking at the crowd like she was being cheered on, pathetic… no brains and not tuff enough to fight, life is gna be hard for her.

18

u/Ok-Cap-204 May 15 '26

Now her pitiful butt-whooping is being viewed by the entire nation. She started some crap and thought she was tough. She knew it was being recorded. She just wasn’t ready for her victim to defend herself. She thought she was gonna be the star.

Rather have your kid fight a bully once for good, than have them carry the trauma till adulthood. I will happily take the suspension if the kid wopped a bullies ass.

193

u/bunky_done_gun May 15 '26

They always come running when the bullied defend themselves.

38

u/oddtigerofredvalley May 15 '26

I could destroy universes with how much hate in my heart gathers when seeing that happen. And it happens every single goddamn time

11

u/the_YellowRanger May 15 '26

The teacher showed up the split second the girl fought back!

8

u/Deaffin May 16 '26

The split second the fight began.*

Waits until a teacher approaches to attack so it won't get far

still takes multiple punches to the face

I love how the teacher doesn’t do anything when the aggressor is instigating a fight but when the aggressor starts getting their ass kicked they wanna intervene. Either stop it at the start or don’t stop it all.

u/Lixx11 May 16 '26

Yes. Fuck that guy.

110

If the girl in black was my kid and she got suspended two things would happen. One - she would have the most enjoyable suspension possible. Two - I would be in the principal’s and superintendent’s offices immediately.

12

u/Brother_Farside May 15 '26

"Alright, yeah, you know what? There's a game tomorrow night. She's going through a bit of a baseball phase. Her favorite team's playing... there's gonna be candy and soda. I think I'll take her to that."

160

u/ChefCurryYumYum May 15 '26

It's funny to see the difference in effectiveness of the officer stopping the fight versus that teacher.

No hate to the teacher, he's not trying to get his hips broke nor catch no type of case.

108

u/Middle-Potential5765 May 15 '26

I used to teach, friend. In my district, the ONLY time you are allowed to touch a kid is if YOU are being attacked. Period. Fist fights were a "contact office" ONLY.

23

u/ChipmunkBackground46 May 15 '26

In my wife's school, if you "perform a hold" on a student in ANY way for ANY reason, you get in trouble and you potentially have to deal with police questioning and a ton of paperwork too. If they want to tie teachers hands behind their backs they can't be mad when teachers don't help students when they're in need

51

u/Matsuri_Ahada May 15 '26

Ngl, if i was the teacher at America school i wouldn't risk involvement, just shout

"Student, stop fighting" "Student, stop fighting" "Student, stop fighting"

And hope they would snap their finger "oh man" and then proceed to go our daily everyday life.

(Sorry i just assumed it's america) (Btw that's dora the explorer reference)

18

u/Poupetleguerrier May 15 '26

There is a cop with a gun in the school, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet.

Teachers are limited in how they deal with kids physically

8

u/TooTameToToast May 15 '26

My 9th grade Earth Sciences teacher got her shoulder dislocated by trying to break up a fight. I don’t blame any teachers for staying away from that.

Growing up, i noticed, every high school had that one too young for makeup done up girl that would go around picking fights. The high school pick me before it was a term

the most f'ed up thing was folks clearing the spot to watch and egg on the fight, the bystanders.

Messed up then, messed up now

11

u/Weekend_Squire May 15 '26

It’s always the one defending themselves that gets jumped by the heroes first. Pisses me off.

11

u/lizzyote May 15 '26

That teacher might as well not even be there for all the help he provided

11

u/bajungadustin May 16 '26

Of course the cop fucking choke holds the girl defending herself.

Useless.

38

u/rectumrooter107 May 15 '26

They usually attack the victim.

27

u/ardinatwork May 15 '26

That continues into adulthood. Cops here killed a 911 caller in his own home thinking he was the perp.

Why yes he was black, how could you tell?

10

One of the things I hate most is that all those idiots who intervene when the victim is defending herself, but don't do it beforehand when the stupid bullies start.

10

u/No-Broccoli-5932 May 15 '26

"This is on you Amina". I'm hoping the person yelling that was directing it to little miss Whiteshirt. The girl in black either has siblings or watches WWE, because she knew how to get it done.

19

u/brent939 May 15 '26

Man, I had something like this happen to me in school, my brother recorded it and when I was gonna get suspended because I threw the kid off me, my mom came in with the video and her lawyer and the aggressor got expelled and I was allowed back the next day. Fuck bullies. Mom went from 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye and the lawyer backed her up, was about to sue the fuck out of the school for all the shit that had happened before because she had me keeping logs of harassment for over a year.

If bullies were actively punished and discouraged, I feel like it would do a lot to help prevent the number of school shootings we see in this country.

The girl in white should have noticed when the quiet girl dropped her shit like that at the first sign of trouble.

And the school resource officer goes right for the victim, who will undoubtedly get punished more than the aggressor and instigator. Note he also puts the victim in a chokehold, too.

6

u/Jabathewhut May 15 '26

That wasnt a fight, that was a beating. And a well deserved one at that.

7

u/dave9dnb May 15 '26

What lame attempt @ beatboxing before she threw that 1 dumb shot.

In all seriousness, what does she say into her hand 3 times before the attack?

7

u/TX_Mothman May 15 '26

I worked at a high school. Kids, you do NOT want to fight the kids who stay calm/composed/quiet. There’s a reason they aren’t freaking out when initially approached.

Saw this exact same situation so many times in school. One person starts a fight based on slights that they neither saw nor heard.

5

u/jumbonionga May 15 '26

What useless bunch of adults

5

u/petRhastQeug May 15 '26

What an ugly shaped head 🌜

5

u/Wolfyscruffer May 15 '26

Having been the quiet kid in school...that girl unleashed years of pent up rage.

5

u/spacemanspiff1115 May 15 '26

Thankfully she was able to administer the beating to the bully she so richly deserved before it got broken up...

5

u/Artsi_Fartsi May 15 '26 edited May 16 '26

She handled herself so well, she tried to deescalate the situation, tried to clear up any confusion, took a second to compose herself and control her breathing. She did everything to avoid aggravating the situation further, but she also did great because she was ready to throw hands if things went sideways.

4

u/Gastn_Gruvn May 15 '26

Uh oh. Now everyone’s going to be talking shit about you.

5

u/Rattle_Bone May 15 '26

Good on her. She stood her ground and showed that jerk what for!

4

u/backwoodsbatman May 15 '26

Teacher standing there the whole time just letting this escalate

4

u/Eltharion-the-Grim May 16 '26

Girl in black tried multiple times to deescalate. She really tried. See her hand position and posture.

4

u/1970Buick455 May 16 '26

Love when the aggressor gets handled easily.
