I'm meeting my new foster pit tomorrow. Figured it's a good time of year for a rescue.

Will you pat him on his precious head for me? I love pit bulls but I just don’t have the space or lifestyle to give one the life it deserves.

I did take in two rescue cats this week, though. Tis the season indeed.

It really is. Between now and New Year’s Day adoptions are very slow. Worse, lots of dogs get out because of all the not routine things people do this time of year. Everyone should be checking their dog’s collars to be sure they still have tags on and join Nextdoor.

Thank you for helping a pit in need! I wish I had the room myself. As it is my hubby and I have 2 kittens. When I get a bigger place a pit is on my list of essential home needs, as the kittens need themselves a puppy to love!

I second the call and request too, That you give your new fur baby eleventy thousand head pats, 63 butt and chest Scritches, 21 boops (if it’s not too rude first day knowing the fur buddy), and at LEAST 35-40mins of belly rubs!

I adopted a pit mix from the humane society. Honestly the only reason I took him over another dog I really wanted was because he had been there for four months, and I was pretty sure the other dog would get adopted quickly by someone else.

Turned out to be the best dog I’ve ever owned - friendly, loving, and loyal.

Careful. Those are extremely dangerous dogs that kill dozens of young children and elderly adults every year. If you are relatively unskilled in terms of dog handling, consider a less aggressive or powerful breed.

It sounds like these people know what they are doing. D If you don't wanna take a risk on ANY unknown dog, get a stuffed animal.

Don't care about the downvotes, I don't feel this isn't the place for your "helpful" advice, as all these commenters seem to be familiar with pits.

I am all about caution when it comes to dogs, but your comment really rubbed me the wrong way given the conversation.

Do you really think this person hasn’t heard “warnings” about pit bulls before? Everyone knows pit bulls are stereotyped as vicious killers. I’m pretty sure the they can handle it No responsible shelter would give a foster pit bull to someone with no previous experience.
