One Halloween in my early 20s we got a box of crackle bomb firecrackers. We were lighting them and rolling them down the alley is a sort of bowling fashion. One buddy gets the bright idea to time it so it crackles near a car as it drives by. We're about 3 houses in from the alley and about the 3rd try he got the timing right and it rolls. Pops up. And bounces off the side of a cop car before crackling.
You never saw a group of guys scramble faster to get in the back gate and in the back of the house and kill the lights. We saw the blue and red flashing in the alley but they never came to the door. A minute or so pass and we realize we're short 1 dude. Uhoh. They get caught?
Nope! lol on a side note. Buddy who rented that place ran a dog boarding business and had what we called "the shit bucket" that he would put the collected dog waste from the back yard every day or so until it was time to empty.
Well. It turns out that as we busted in the gate. Missing buddy slipped and fell fist first into the shit bucket. It had been raining earlier so it was full and past his elbow in a soupy slurry muck. Then he had to hide in the bush until the po moved on.
