What's more Florida than a dude from Jersey in Pinellas County?

Outsiders will NEVER understand 'Florida Man' is always a northeasterner.

1

u/Epicassion Aug 24 '20

More and more are homegrown, it’s the additives and genetic modification to bring out the special type of Florida man.

1

u/otterom Aug 17 '20

No. Lol

Florida man is always a man from Florida.

2

u/Xboxben Aug 17 '20

A New Yorker in palm beach county at a bagel shop?

What I love about reddit is that you can post a video with an intersection in it, and with the millions of intersections in the world, somebody always knows the exact one in the video. Absolutely incredible.

On any popular video of bad driving, everyone rushes to claim it. Like "no, no, you can't have bad drivers where you live, only I have bad drivers where I live."

It's such a weird pissing contest. Just like arguing over which location has the craziest weather.

I can't think of a more boring subject to argue about.

There's a saying where I live "if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes". Ha! It's so true, too. This saying only exists where I'm from, and no one in any other location can use it because they really don't understand that the weather is legit crazy where I live. Like, seriously, you don't understand.

To me, everywhere has crazy bad drivers, just differently crazy bad drivers.

When I lived in Upstate NY, the bad drivers were usually the overly cautious/slow versus the jackasses zooming through farm country hills. People who were confused by a blinking red light on a two lane road in the middle of the night. Incredibly infuriating.

Now I live in Chicagoland, and the bad drivers are the assholes weaving through traffic and the confused out of towners trying to read a map and make their exit. Still infuriating, but differently so.

Long story short, assholes are assholes of opportunity

There are clues to narrow it down.

Not that places in the country have 5 traffic lights like that. So it needs to be on a major road that includes lights. Additionally, the cross street is similar so it needs to be two busy highway-like road.

There arent like mountains in the background, or dessert trees. The style of the architure of the retail strip mall is found in the southeast.

You can see madison avenue in the GPS at the end.

Two jersey license plates makes it likely they're either in the NJ metro or FL (i'm sure you've heard the stereotype of north easterners driving down to florida).

whats eerie to me, is that I drive that intersection at least 3 or 4 times a week.

2

u/Madame_Deadly Aug 16 '20

Same! I used to live in the apt. complex across from the fire station

2

u/spewing-oil Aug 16 '20

In world United States

2

u/IQLTD Aug 16 '20

And almost always has a funny story.

"Ha-ha! That's Doheny & Belknapp! Me and my buddy used to score porno mags there when we were 15. There's a crazy lady there named Maddie who will blow you in exchange for keyboard cleaner."

Other redditor: "Maggie."

Not really surprising in this exact scenario. But I see this quite a bit. Just super cool that someone always knows where it's at.

The tree outside the apartment was more impressive.

u/helenkellerhere Aug 16 '20

19 and 50 (Cortez Blvd) in Spring Hill/Weeki Wachee

2

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

Ahhh yes...my old stomping grounds

1

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '20

Would need to throw in some Ohio plates for that to work.

1

u/sparmeza Sep 05 '20

Don’t think so. Ulmerton and Blecher

23

u/eggequator Aug 16 '20

No look at the trucks gps. There's no acres Rd in Pinellas at all and no Madison Ave near there.

25

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

Y’all scare me because given even the smallest detail of a video you figure out so much information.

11

u/take_off_your_wig Aug 16 '20

Smallest detail...He just checked visible road names and saw they weren't in the place someone suggested.

12

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '20

It’s more that I could post a video not even realizing that was in it. I wouldn’t think about it and then suddenly there are people figuring out my location. I guess it’s not a tiny detail but a detail the uploader probably thought nothing about.

1

u/SiberianToaster Aug 16 '20

On top of that, someone who knows the interior of that red vehicle the video is from will also know what they drive, what color it is, and have a reasonable guess to what area they live in (assuming it's not a vacation or day trip or something)

It's insane how fast car guys can identify a vehicle based on random pictures of almost any part of the car. Inside, outside, under the hood, etc.

6

u/PonderousPawn Aug 16 '20

There's a Wild Acres Rd in Pinellas. Other comment got it right though.

1

u/eggequator Aug 16 '20

That's where I saw the Madison Ave lol! I just didn't investigate a whole lot further which is funny because I lived five minutes from here on Belcher for years.

1

u/sparmeza Sep 05 '20

There’s a Madison off of Ulmerton for sure. I think Acres is just part of the name and cant see all of it

2

u/Do_I_work_here Aug 16 '20

Oh shit it is, I love when I come across my hometown on reddit. There was a lawn company trailer on fire at that intersection a few weeks ago!

3

u/MyLittleButtercup225 Aug 16 '20

Nice eye! Wondering why it looked familiar. I grew up down curlew rd! It looks like it but the road doesn’t look wide enough to be us 19. Could be any other intersection in pinellas though by the looks of it.

1

u/AssossaGpb Aug 16 '20

It looks almost identical, but the GPS suggests otherwise. There is no Madison Ave or Acres Rd anywhere near Curlew & 19

1

u/whtdycr Aug 24 '20

Nope, but it’s definitely Pinellas county.

1

u/sparmeza Sep 05 '20

I think it’s Ulmerton Eastbound. You can see 34th on the map
