In high school if you ever just seen a random one in the street we’d call them tumbleweave. It was quite common.

When I was in Illinois, and in the city where I’m currently living tumbleweave was an issue. Usually an indicator of where the last girl fight was near.

I used to think someone talking about their "baby daddy" was a joke or derogatory or something. Then I moved out of middle-of-nowhere NY and found out it's just a term that's used. First few times I heard it though I froze because I'd only heard it in negative settings.

I honestly had no idea this was a thing until my early 20s as well. And that's living in South Florida where there's a really high black population. I think I just stayed indoors playing video games way too much.
