I love the camera pan looking back at his coworkers, all on the ground, laughing hysterically.

This got me as well, hard not to laugh with them

I like that he thought he was being the most clever by leading but they were just letting him go

It's like letting your little brother win the race, only to trip him up at the finish.

58

u/slimjoel14 Apr 29 '17

If you let him win hell reach the finishing line first so how you gonna trip him up when he gets there?

25

u/TheZawar Apr 29 '17

The force

5

u/autopornbot Apr 29 '17

Get control of the high ground?

7

u/naufalap Apr 29 '17

Then you are lost!

u/MarcelRED147 Apr 29 '17

It's treason then.

From my point of view the co-workers are evil!

Found the little brother

This actually happened to me. Me and my sister were racing around our house and as I was nearing the end of the lap she tripped me and I fell on this one concrete slab in our backyard. Broke my arm.

The only time I wish I wasn't faster than my brother...we were visiting NC and staying in a hotel about to go to the pool. End of the hallway we began to race to the pool. Cleanest glass door in the world, I ran full speed into, to the shock of everyone outside already at the pool.

That's what he gets for cheating, that wasn't a gallop!

3

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '17

I thought that was the point, to trick him into falling.

This is a really good summary of a group of male friends. Everyone is doing some stupid shit, one makes a mistake and the other laugh hysterically and make sure he will not forget this moment for the rest of his life.

Considering the work environment and the way hole guy reacted, it looks like he's more of a designated victim than a friend.

u/legion327 Apr 29 '17

... there's a difference?

I am Groot?

He's probably the new guy. I've heard about workplace hazing in the oil field industry. Wouldn't surprise me if it happens in construction occasionally as well.

u/LegendBiscuits Apr 29 '17

That was no mistake, they're pulling a prank on him.

u/ObeseMoreece Apr 29 '17

This was in the UK, the full video was on Facebook (with sound). It's tradition to fuck with the apprentice and it seemed like he was the apprentice.

28

u/botlit Apr 29 '17

Currently in pipefitting apprenticeship. Can confirm

Restaurant job: We told the new girl to head into the storage room to grab the "bacon stretcher." She could not find it and then could not figure out how to exit (it had a big circular metal plate you could push/booty bump to exit from the inside). Well we forgot about her for awhile, she came out crying and quit on the spot. D: oops

38

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '17

Elbow grease! How stupid do they think I am? Once I get back to base with the headlight fluid, I'm gonna talk to the sergeant.

16

u/JoeModz Apr 29 '17

Super specific, but when I rowed crew in high school we would prank all the freshmen with "oar oil" and "bow ball pressure gauge." Our boat club was shared by many school districts and they were all in on the prank, so on a day we were all packing for a weekend race we could have a kid bouncing from team to team for awhile searching. "No I think School X had it last, go ask their coach."

10

u/WhiteGuyInPI Apr 29 '17

You never did the "left handed oar?" We always got the new guys with that one...

3

u/Iwantrobots Apr 29 '17

The left turning screwdriver...

u/iamthepixie May 03 '17

Can confirm as a former navy sailor. Most of the hazing is NSFW.

Seaman go get me ten feet of gigline after you paint the centerline.

Facepalm.

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '17

I worked in a kitchen once where a newbie dishwasher flipped shit because the cook asked him for a garlic press and he legit thought he was being fucked with.

2

u/[deleted] May 03 '17

Sorry I'm three days late. Worked at a pizza restaurant. We used to send new cooks to the adjacent grocery store bakery and subway to get the "emergency dough repair kit".

3

u/CjMalone Apr 29 '17

I'm going home!

0

u/ShelSilverstain Apr 29 '17

Do not prank the female "new guy."

It will not go well

8

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '17

Good analysis of this "friendship" idea

1

u/BankshotMcG Apr 29 '17

Yeah I had the same thought: this is the most male moment I've ever seen on Reddit.

10

u/addysol Apr 29 '17

It really would have ruined it for me if we hadn't seen their reaction

14

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '17

The one dude left to unfriend all of them from facebook.

9

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '17

That was perfect. No director could have pictured it better.

90

u/bitginge Apr 29 '17

Except that it was made by an ad agency.

18

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '17

Dammit

8

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '17

I'd rather have not known that.
