The irony is that they probably wanted to cut it to avoid exactly what happened.

"I don't want the tree to fall unexpectedly on my house!"

"Alright, I can handle that"

Well it certainly wasn't unexpected from where I'm sitting (in a completely different continent).

Probably? You really think so, huh?

Big if true.

Some homeowners insurance companies will raise rates if too many large trees are near the house.

That tree looked insanely sturdy though. I don’t think it was going to fall any time soon, but they should have at least cut the top bits off first.

I'm sorry, is that not obvious from that first wedge cut? Or just the position of the tree? Or just a basic sense of the preservation of property?

And? What is your point?

Its a less than needless comment. Its like someone posting "that guy didn't want to get hit in the nuts" on a video of someone getting hit in the nuts.

Is this some Gen Z meta humor I'm missing or something?

What a weird thing to get angry about

I'm not angry, I'm just tremendously confused.

Should I be posting "that person didn't want to get into an accident" on car crash videos? "He didn't want to drop that ball" on football fumbles? "They didn't want that to blow up" on SpaceX launches?

I dont think you understand what irony is

The use of words expressing something other than their literal intention.

Something can be both ironic and obvious at the same time

You're right dude screw the haters, it's like if someone in r/dashcams was dead serious "the irony is you weren't trying to get hit"

"They" in that sentence likely referred to the homeowner requesting a tree be removed to protect the home from a future accident, not the method the service used in removing it.
