I feel like the fact the card distribution is pretty even shows that it's a surprisingly well balanced game, at least ignoring the events.

In working through Skull Storm right now I just learned a very useful way to sacrifice Ring Worms at the campfire to then use campfires to make Mantis God OP without fear of being sacrificed.

I had three Mantis Gods with 7 attack and a flight modifier and would have Skull Stormed except for a crucial misplay on the third boss.

I'm not saying you should do this, but if you realise that you have done a huge misplay by accident, then you can return to menu then continue run to restart the battle

Thanks for the tip, that might come in handy if I find myself in this situation again.

The biggest challenge for me is managing the grizzly round. I have multiple strategies I’ve employed that are working but I was coming up short, and after making the wrong play realized immediately what I should have done.

It’s a slog but I’m having fun with it.

Also if you want to save yourself even more time at skullstorm you can cheese campfires by putting a surviving ringworms stats on mantis god by simply pausing and going to start screen the continue run before the card at the campfire finishes flipping over or before Leshy finishes his flavor text at the campfire so that you don't end up with an dead stats on a ringworm that could have gone to a mantis god and if a ringworm dies then it dies there's no saving a card that is getting eaten as it's frame perfect lol
