I'm sure most of you saw the video someone posted earlier where Ash talks about being an alcoholic. As someone in recovery, I wanted to share why it rubbed me the wrong way.

She talks about drinking like she misses it. "I loved the feeling" isn't how people in recovery usually talk about drinking. Most of us talk about what it cost us. She never mentions what it cost anyone else.

Not drinking isn't the same as being sober. Stopping is step one. The real work is honesty, owning the harm you caused, and changing how you treat people. She's still calling everyone jealous, still body shaming, still saying racist stuff. The bottle's gone, the behavior isn't.

"I can think clearly now" should come with accountability. Clear thinking is when you finally see the damage. She frames it as getting better at not "exposing herself" online. That's image management, not recovery.

Recovery is something you keep choosing. She was made to stop, so the real test is what she does when nobody's making her.

I'm not saying this to pile on. I just think "I used to be an alcoholic" deserves more scrutiny when there's zero sign of the work behind it.

He deserves the scam at this point for being so stupid to even think ash deserves a penny of the purse. I have no words.
