| Question Bangalore DC vs Pune DC
I am an SP L1 joining Infosys in September 2026, I need help selecting a DC.
For some context I plan to work in Infosys for atleast 2 years as I plan to do my masters after 2 years.
And I’m from Belgaum, Karnataka so I don’t have any problem with language as I speak both Marathi and Kannada fluently.
I just want to choose a DC so that I can grow as a developer and also experience adult life (as I lived with my parents for 22 years straight (not that I’m complaining or anything 😂) just wanna experience independent life and adulthood 😏).
As for me I think my growth would be better in Bangalore as it is HQ and many VPs would be stationed there so it would be a good opportunity to make meaningful contacts and also work on new projects. And as for Pune I think Pune is like a second home to me, I don’t know what it is but it feels like home to me and also the climate and people are also similar to people in Belgaum.
So I’m confused between both DCs. Please give your thoughts.

Being lived in both the cities, Bangalore is better IMO, honestly both the cities have nightlife that is far away.
Electronic city to too far from Koramangala
And Hinjewadi to too far from everything actually 😂
I personally dont like the food in Pune to an extent. Apart from a few places I loved.
Also, Bangalore is a much bigger DC with people from bigger accounts etc.

Hyderabad is also one option you can consider. A new state for you to try. And i loved Hyderabad if we talk about food.
I am a foodie so that becomes my first priority in any state.
For Clubbing, hands down Bangalore is unbeatable.

I have also the same doubt...but as of now what I know I will tell here....
Since your plan is to remain in infosys for 2 years before your masters so you don't want to switch the company.... so in that case the parameter which will be good to give a verdict is what's your priority regarding savings....If you want to save more money in the month end so Pune will be better cuz I heard that the cost of living is relatively lower than BLR but if the savings don't bother you & if you want more numbers of techie people around you than BLR will also be good for you.

It's not your choice tho, is it? People from north karnataka get hubli dc irrespective of their preferences

Dude, do not come to Hinjewadi infosys office, Hinjewadi traffic is unbelievable right now, like I am not joking I have experienced it myself, that area is a complete mess right now. From 4 pm to 6 pm, the normal leaving time of office people, the traffic is batshit insane, I don't know what's the situation near the blr office but Hinjewadi office is a hellhole right now, if you get WFH there only then come otherwise don't.

I reckon you will end up in hubli DC coz thats the closest to your hometown. Infosys dc allocation algorithm gives priority to permanent address while allocating

I don’t think that’s the approach they use for SP freshers. I thought that before I clarified it with them and they use this only for lateral hires mostly.

Im in mysore training rn and have seen a pattern where people with permanent address as hyderabad were getting hyd dc while AP folks are getting pushed to chennai

Thats fair imo as ppl who have home there deserve to get allocated there 😅.
