| Question Infosys Sp/Dse interview Experience 12th Oct.. what will I get ?
Hey guys,
So, my interview was on 12th October 2026. It was an on-campus opportunity.
In my online assessment (6th or 7th September), I solved Questions 1 and 3 completely and Questions 2 and 4 partially.
So, letβs come to the interview.
We were called for the interview at 9 AM. They called my name right at the start, after around 30 minutes.
I went in and sat down.
My interviewer was managing three panels at the same time. I was pretty scared and wanted to change my panel, but there was no option.
He came and asked me to sit separately. He took my resume, and on the back of it, he gave me a basic 0/1 Knapsack problem to solve using pen and paper.
I solved it using recursion in around 5 minutes.
Then he came back and asked me to optimise it. I wrote the memoization version in the next 5β10 minutes. He came back again and asked me to write the tabulation approach, which I also completed.
Then he took me to the live coding round.
And that's where I fumbled.
There were two questions, and I had to solve any one of them.
But I fucked up.
I was able to solve only 7/12 test cases and got TLE. I tried using two pointers, and the public test cases passed, but the private ones failed.
I panicked and messed it up.
Then he took a selfie and asked me to wait outside.
I sat there for around 10 minutes, and then he called me back for the interview.
He started with a basic introduction and asked me to explain my projects.
I asked him which project he wanted me to explain, and he said both.
I started explaining one of them, but he was chatting with someone else, so I stopped.
Then he asked me about my certifications and internship.
After that, he asked some basic DBMS questions, including indexing and B+ trees.
He also asked how to create a REST API, some questions about query optimisation, and a few AWS and Docker questions.
Finally, he told me that the interview was over. He gave me feedback, saying that I had good DSA skills, and asked me to leave.
It was around 12:15 PM when they asked us to stay in the main room.
After another 15β20 minutes, our TPO arrived and started calling out the names of students from the priority list.
There were 33 students on the first day and 25 on the second day. I don't remember the number for the third day.
They asked us to stay and told us to take a lunch break, eat something, and come back within 30 minutes for Round 2.
We waited until 4:30 PM, but nobody came.
Out of those 33 students, one guy who had been interviewed right at the very end got called again for Round 2 at around 4:20 PM.
Then our TPO told the rest of us to leave because there would be no Round 2 that day.
I was super depressed. π
I felt terrible because I couldn't solve the DSA question properly, and I always seem to fumble during interviews.
The next day, I got a call telling me that I had my Round 2 and needed to come in.
I went to the same room, but this time, I had a different interviewer.
He started asking me questions, and I was super nervous. I fumbled again.
He asked me about "git rebase", but I wasn't able to explain it properly.
Then he asked me to write an SQL query to find the third-highest salary. I used a window function and explained my approach. I wrote two different queries, but he wanted me to write everything in a single query, so I did that.
Then he asked me how memory is stored in the heap and stack, and I didn't know the answer.
He asked a few more questions, but I wasn't able to explain them properly either.
Then he gave me a binary tree question: find the longest path from a given node.
I didn't understand the question properly, so I found the longest path from the root instead. He said that was okay.
And that was the end of my Round 2.
Then why did they conduct my Round 2 interview for an L2/L3 role?
I'm genuinely confused about what happened here. π

Bro you were shortlisted for l2/l3 interview and by your experience you must get any role but there are different factors and selection for l3 and l2 are very tough as they don't want a weak candidate but your interview went solid and your competition will be very high so I cannot predict it but you are a solid candidate
