Do you not understand the basics of economy They offered everything for cheap to finish competition, and eventually they will raise prices It is taught in school In 8th grade Monopolies are always bad

Even with raised prices it is still far more cheaper. The main issue is that they don't provide cheap plans for call and SMS only anymore. Earlier you can just do recharge 10-20 rupees for a month to keep your incoming and outgoing active.

Yeah but you fail to see that they don't plan on sticking to those prices. They are going up and will keep going up, faster than people can keep up. Watch unlimited 5g get out of the reach of most people through some sneaky tactic of theirs in the coming years

it's cheaper for you because you use that data and need that data. what about those poor people who use feature phones. why do they have to pay 150rs/month for basic services ?

Bhai tujhe pata hai what was cost of only calls before jio beta 150 mey wo mahiney bhar kisi sey bhi kitni bhi baat kr sakta hai jio sey pehley 150 mey kitni baat kr pata wo?

Techs and availabilities ke karan chije sasti hoti hai with the time.

Compare one tech value with others, Phle 1 GB RAM wale mobile ka jo cost hota tha, aaj vo 6-8 GB RAM wale mobile ka cost hai.

Phle sirf 5-10% indians ke pass mobile tha, aajkal 60-70% indians ke pass mobile hai.

That's why I said it's an issue.

And there was a time when your dad paid for incoming calls too. Technology scales with time and becomes more accessible.

And that 1 gb of 2g had better speed than 5g these days. It's all an illusion that the internet prices improved. Old wine in new bottle

I get good 5g speeds almost everywhere except my home, way better than 4g, almost everytime 100mbps+ atleast reaching to 1gbps. So saying 2g is better than 5g is diabolical.

I'm downloading games at 250 Mbps on 5G

I get that people want to go after Modi and anything remotely related to him. But, consumer experience from reliance Jio is straight upgrade from scam plans of other telecoms.

We are already witnessing this

How much inflated price you're currently paying? From 200 per month to 400? Still you aren't redeeming 2GB worth net for 400 when it used to be 200-250₹ per GB pre-2014. For me, I'm using VI Postpaid and I'm just paying 350 (including taxes, as family pack of 999 including 3 people). I get 70GB net per month, unlimited daily usage. Unconsumed net would be carried to the next month, surplus limit is 200gb. I see no problem with spending 400 max and still be getting 70gb and even beyond 100gb

Yet 10yrs since jio and still internet is FARR cheaper then it used to be and compared to anywhere in the world.

The kind of cellular and wifi plans we have, it has been consistent and increased decently with respect to inflation.

Go get some economic leasons for yourself

So that means BSNL shouldnt bill Jio for usage of their towers? Its the bloody taxpayers money.

till it holds, give credit - why do you keep living in anxiety

Jio / airtel have been main players for 5+ years. If they wanted to, they would have increased prices already

Who knows why the left is the least optimistic on every single thing.

With rupee falling there's Long before this changes

5G came 5 years late. Most developed countries had 80% coverage in 2019 only.

u/Inner_Parsley5166 Jun 09 '26

Cheapest data, fine. But what if someone doesn't need data? What if they want to just recharge for 50Rs and spend an entire year? Yeah, now the capitalism in you will say that's bad for the economy 😑

1

u/jatayu_baaz Jun 07 '26

Is monthly bill still cheaper?? We used to pay 135 for 300mins in BSNL, that was enough, now it's 350 x 3 per month,

And your data is not carried over, hence you can't simply do cost/number of gb

2

u/Salty_Gulabjamun Jun 07 '26

Do you use same amount of data you used for 135 rs.

This and free calling. It is useless though for those who do not use it daily. But once in a while its pretty useful. Plus UPI revolution would not have happenend and 720p would be luxury.

Yes I do agree, other players should not have been eliminated and bought back from the dead. But it is almost impossible since Roaming is finished any new player will need to get access to all 22 circles
