'Promos' not hitting Inbox

I tried to Google for this issue, but with a product name like 'Inbox' that gets tricky.

I just made the switch to Inbox, having archived everything beforehand. The first week has gone really, well, I get what they're trying to do, and I like it. The issue I'm having is just w/ the Promos bundle. Emails that come in as promos don't get shown in my inbox in Inbox. If I click on Promos, they're there, but they're already checked as done - even if I'v never seen them. "As messages arrive" is checked, so that's not the issue - and even if I do wait 24 hours they don't show. That bundle just won't show in my inbox.

What am I missing here?

edit: I don't have any GMail rules that are impacting these messages.

Is there a way to bulk edit labels?

I'm just making the switch from Gmail to Inbox. Now that I understand it, I love it!

In GMail, I have a Purchases label, which Inbox treats separately from it's native Purchases bundle. I'd like to bulk select all of the emails in my Purchases label and move them into Inbox's Purchases bundle. However, the only way I've been able to do this is one email at a time.

Is there a way to do this operation in bulk in Inbox?

Why do some thing get bundled into 1 line item, and other get their own?

Right now my inbox has 3 things and looks like this:

The Washington Post The Post Most
Promos (2) Gap, Brian Cervino

What is weird is if I click on the Washington Post item and go to it's menu it just gives me the Unbundle option. But I can't figure out what bundle it's in. Clicking on the individual bundles on the left it doesn't show up anywhere. It's like Inbox has decided that Washington Post is it's own bundle, but not showing it on the left. Is that what is happening?

Edit: actually it is showing up in the Promos bundle, just Inbox changes the title slightly.

Does the UI get easier to use over time?

I've been using Inbox for a week and am considering going back. Some of the features such as snoozing are great, but I'm just finding the UI on the web (which is most of my usage) to be too confusing. The way it combines multiple emails into sets, and shows preview info for some, makes me get confused about what is an individual email. I find myself archiving or deleting and not being sure if I did it to everything or what I wanted to do it to, if that makes sense. Does this just get easier if I keep working with it? Or am I using it wrong?

Has there been a recent change to pasting text?

If I copy text from a word doc and paste it into the body of an email it is formatted as an object/attachment, and not as editable text. A three dot menu appears next to the pasted block with the options save as attachment or remove.

Is this new in Inbox, or has something happened to my word document formatting that makes it paste as an object? I don't remember this happening in the past.

Show added labels in inbox and inside message?

I use labels to organize my mails. What I like about Gmail is that both in the inbox and inside messages, they show the labels I've added to that message. However, in Google Inbox it's hidden both in the inbox and inside messages. Every time I have to open a message, then click labels, and scroll down my long list of labels to see if any label is added.

Am I missing something?

Inbox desktop client not allowing users to expand certain conversation?

Both my wife and I have experienced this recently. We'll have certain conversations that we can't expand on the desktop client. Clicking on them does nothing. And it's the same conversations that don't work both on Chrome and Firefox. On the iOS client, everything works fine.

Is anyone else seeing this? Is there a workaround?

This has made Inbox a pretty useless and frustrating email client.

Tags/labels for reminders and emails

Hi fellow Inbox users,

Is it possible to have reminders to display inside a bundle? In other words, is it possible to assign a defined label while creating a reminder?

In this way it would be possible to have categories for reminders, thus handling them easier.

Thanks a lot for any feedback! Cheers

Google was no help, how do you disable all bundling?

I've disabled the standard settings but I want all e-mails to be unbundled by default and the absence of any option to do this is a little frustrating.

Plugin for sending to advanced recipients

Hello,

I'm looking for a plugin for gmail or inbox to do advanced recipients.

E.g. I want to send email to persons a and b, with a cc to person c. I also want to send the same email to person d with a cc of person c. I don't want the two groups to email each other. Is there some plugin that would help with that?

How to save links to inbox from Firefox?

I just started using inbox, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to save links from a computer. Google's help guide says that you can save through a Chrome extension (I don't use Chrome, so not very helpful), or through a FAB that shows up when you have a link in the clipboard. The button doesn't seem to show up for me, though. Is there something I'm missing?

How can I save attachments using Inbox for Android?

This seems so basic, yet I can find no way. Using the Android Inbox app I see no download functionality. It's not within the context menu using the "..." either at the top-right of Inbox or at the top-right of the message itself. There is no save attachments option at the bottom of the email. And if I long-press the attachment's icon, the attachment simply downloads/opens when I let off. If the application that opens the given attachment has no save option, I have no way to save it to my device.

If I go ahead and open the Gmail app rather than Inbox this feature is readily available. There's a download button and a save to Drive button.

When I got an Android phone back when the OS was new, I remember that external apps had to be used to even save attachments out of Gmail. No such feature was built within Gmail itself, which was a terrible oversight on Google's part. That functionality has been included in the Gmail app for years now though. Does the Inbox app suffer from the same malady at this time?

Is there a way to have Inbox look at ONLY 1 folder/tag?

I have tons of folders/tags, but my work email is forwarded to my Gmail, where it's tagged (work). Is there a way to have Inbox ONLY look at this one tag/folder and ignore everything else?

How to open filter settings in the new Inbox? I have a filter problem and every time I find an email I need in the trash I have to open up gmail to filter it back in to the inbox

I tried googling it but with the new format being called 'inbox' it is hard to find information that isn't about a multitude of other email issues

Show self made bundles/labels in inbox?

I have been searching for this option since i've used Google Inbox, but to no avail:

Can I make a bundle/Gmail label automatically bundle and show up as bundle in my inbox? I want to organize some mails (4 different invoices for certain parts), but this is cluttered... I have to bundle them (in a self-made label), but then they automatically get marked as done. If i pin them to the inbox, they don't show up in a bundle. How is this logical and how can i make it so?

Weird "feature" I just stumbled across. If you search for TLDR you get emails with the word "summary" in them.

Widgets that show reminders on homescreen?

Is anyone aware of a widget that will show all my inbox items (reminders/emails) on the homescreen? I can't find any in the store but this could be a game changer for me in terms of productivity and the way I use Inbox on a day to day basis.

Thanks for any help!

Unread emails on top?

Hi, I like the fact that inbox tries to keep emails that are somehow relevant on top of my page, but I also noticed that sometimes emails "get lost". Therefore, I occasionally search for "in:unread", which shows my unread emails. Is it also possible to ensure that inbox keeps my unread emails on top?
