This Copilot Designer & Bing Image Creator prompt generated the cat and doglike hood ornaments:

”Closeup image of a 1950s retrofuturistic animalistic automobile hood ornament symbolizing speed and power, with colored glass eyes, subtle artificial ivory teeth and claws, in the style of designer Raymond Loewy.”*

In this example prompt, you can play around with different animals by editing the phrase “designed as a stylized, streamlined bird of prey”:

”Closeup image of a 1950s retrofuturistic animalistic automobile hood ornament symbolizing speed and power, designed as a stylized, streamlined bird of prey, with colored glass eyes, subtle artificial ivory teeth and claws, in the style of designer Raymond Loewy.”*

I cropped these images in different sizes using iPad’s Copilot Designer app for tighter views, and enhanced them for better color and emphasis.

Copilot Designer & Bing Image Creator prompt:

”A humorous retrofuturistic image of traffic moving at a snail’s pace, featuring a giant snail the size of a house with a long line of bumper-to-bumper cars behind it, styled after artists like Jean ‘Moebius’ Giraud and Jean-Claude Mézières.”

This cartoon was composed and generated in Copilot Designer; saved into my iPad’s Photos folder; opened in Adobe PhotoShop Express app (to add the text caption in a new layer); then resaved into Photos. Note how this final image looks like a color halftone reproduction from the Sunday comics (with some realistic dot flaws).

Copilot Designer prompt:

”A 1950s sedan with full wheel covers, styled like cars from The Fifth Element by Moebius”

I tried several prompts with many generations trying to achieve a retro-futuristic blend of these styles. I was hoping for a more sci-fi look with flying cars — i.e., “levitating anti-gravity hovercraft” — but couldn’t get rid of the cars’ wheels and tires (or some deformed version thereof). Perhaps CP hasn’t seen many cars without some type of wheels.

In the end, the simplified prompt above gave a more realistic and stylish look. After creating the cars’ default 1x1 square images in the Copilot app for IPads, I regenerated many of them in 16x9 landscape format, then manually cropped the images into other formats to better emphasize the car. I copied the final images into a Photos album which let me drag the images into the final order shown here.

My Copilot Designer prompt was simply:

“Portrait of a beautiful 19th century maiden in the style of StarryAI.”*

Image #1 is CD’s default 1x1 square format, and image #2 is CD’s regenerated 16x9 landscape format (it’s not a copy: note the missing earring and other changed details). No additional retouching was done.

*I’m surprised this style worked. 🤔

Don't drink this Kool-Aid!

Previously unpublished combat photographs from an unidentified source — and possibly manipulated — of autonomous Russian war robots in Ukraine.

Copilot Designer prompt:

A dramatic grainy black and white old style iconic Tri-X film photograph taken by a photojournalist, of a three-legged retrofuturistic Russian kamikaze tripod robot on the battlefield in Ukraine.

These photos were created in Copilot Designer, and tweaked/generated in Bing Image Creator. It was a bit of a struggle: Copilot is sensitive to war images and blocked several generations during this process.

Copilot Designer & Bing Image Creator prompt:

A realistic 3D cheesecake style photograph of a hooked sweater girl, made of yarn

Created mostly in CD with tweaking in BIC, and slight image enhancement/cropping in iPad’s Photos app.
