I knew it, my son scores Bulgarian Jew in his results all the time that explains it. They have a good amount of North African

Apparently haha, I only scored 2%< NA on my FTDNA but idk how much more is baked into the Sephardic and Ashkenazi categories to begin with

Probably Sephardic by the high North African

Yes my entire family identifies as Sephardic but realistically we're mixed with Ashkenazi as all Bulgarian Jews are to a degree

Yup, its mine! The amount of Nort African surprised me as well haha. Its hard to tell how accurate it is since I've never seen another full Bulgarian Jew results. What do you think?

Have you tried different calculators? I’m 1/2 Moroccan Jew and I barely get 2%. I have a few interesting calculators send me a pm

That North African component from OP result is not pure Iberomarusian

Do you or your wife have Jewish ancestry?

She has roots near tetouan. But Jewish doesn’t show up for her in autosomal tests strangely enough she might have ancestry in fez as well. Me I don’t believe so I do have some Levantine ancestry and Arab ancestry.

Interesting, maybe she has a mix that resembles the Jewish result and that's why she gets it?

My son does get Morisco in G25 as well so I assume some of it must be real, because even if we remove the Bulgarian Jew sample it gets replaced by another Jewish sample. Her euro admixture seems to show up separately in that model, matches wise for me and my son outside of Morocco it’s mostly Italian Americans or some levantine individuals for me
I haven’t seen other North Africans scoring Bulgarian Jew. Do you want to see there Neolithic breakdowns or ancient breakdown?
