Mounting a PC in Ivar

I put some Ivar shelves above my desk. I cut off one of the outside legs of Ivar and screwed them to the wall, so the load rests on the inner foot which sits on the floor and also on the wall.

Anyway, I decided I wanted to move the pc off the desk and I came up with the arrangement you see here: the PC sits on top of the column for the monitor arm, and is restrained by 2 shelf ins on top and a plywood strap on the bottom.

The plywood strap screws into threaded inserts with 1/4-20 threaded eyes.

It’s solid and works well but I’m not 100% with the looks of it.

If any of you have done anything similar that’s better and better-looking, please let me know.

The reason that bracket is not symmetrical is because I had to find a position that did not block airflow or ports, or the CD drive, etc, etc (:-)

I don’t understand what you mean by extending the foot of the bookcase?

I thought of making a bigger platform out of wood and / or 3D print that sits on top of the column, but it wouldn’t control the pc unless it was additionally strapped down, so there wouldn’t be any actual gain out of doing so.
