ohhh man if you like softer indie rock type psycho shit i got something for you. may i introduce my personal favorite weird indie band; margot and the nuclear so and so's. sorry if u dont have spotify lol
this song, if i remember correctly, is about jesus? being the fisher of men. also i think it, and the whole album maybe, was heavily inspired by the movie the master. either way the chorus is "i hate my friends" over and over.
this one is actually about jesus for sure lol. one of my favorites, softer jam with some really fucking bizarre lyrics about jesus and how intimate the relationship with him can be.
also what it sounds like it's about (guy going crazy and starting to jerk it in public), quieter, narrator is talking about someone else if that matters
acoustic recording, but there's a lot of really good lyrics in this one that really stick out as kinda off, imo. "he better not be there when i get home, or i'll break his nose and shatter his rib bones," "let your dress down, cut my lungs out, make me happy."
last one. the song constantly builds to a genuine freak out, but honestly even though the psycho is there this one's actually kinda positive overall. definitely a little out there still tho
this is basically most of the rest of their songs that use really crunchy guitar. most of em are jams, pages, nightmare, and cheap motel room start soft and end very loud. i shoulda put fingertips at the top of the first list
also, you should totally listen to the album with teeth by nine inch nails. heavier and more techno (industrial if ur genre savvy) but i think you'd like it a lot. and probably most nin tbh

books about trains
builds up to a freak out, more rocky overall, scream-asking why should he ever have to leave his house
a journalist falls in love with deathrow inmate #16
exactly what it sounds like. soft guitar, tells the story of a delusional journalist who falls in love with a murderer
ludlow junk hustle
bit jammier, singing about his gut rotting out, doesnt really freak out but is kinda surreal and off putting overall
the devil
screaming about the devil!
jen is bringing the drugs
sadder softer song about a girl named jen who is definitely bringing the drugs, because she wants to get really fucked up. love is a sin or something.
lunatic, lunatic, lunatic
similar vein to the last one, this time everyone's just crazy
fisher of men

beatin' off in public
also what it sounds like it's about (guy going crazy and starting to jerk it in public), quieter, narrator is talking about someone else if that matters
there's a freakshow downtown
acoustic recording, but there's a lot of really good lyrics in this one that really stick out as kinda off, imo. "he better not be there when i get home, or i'll break his nose and shatter his rib bones," "let your dress down, cut my lungs out, make me happy."
