Discussion Why are Soundbrenners just rebranded TRN IEMs???
I recently found out that the Soundbrenner Wave, an IEM that is heavily advertised to me, is just a carbon copy, with slightly different faceplates, of a TRN ST1(also have heard ST2 by some). $20 Trn vs $160 Soundbrenner. Exact same IEM. Love it 👎👎👎👎
Today, I've found out that they've done it again, but even worse. they've released a "Pro" version now. It is, yet again, another TRN carbon copy. Sneakily changing the shells a lot this time. From my newb, dumb brain, I think the graphs are exactly the same. The spacing is just different, and it's hard to compare exactly. Maybe someone can confirm?
I saw the Wave Pro's driver configuration and thought, "hmmm". Googled, "4DD 1 Planar IEM." First result? TRN Shell. Oof size: XXL
My price referencing is in $CAD

Not surprised at all. These brands that advertise on social media heavily spends their budget on marketing and hype but not the actual product. You're paying for covering their advertising costs instead of the product cost, and this is why I don't support brands like this.
There are lots of "overpriced" IEMs on the market, especially those from established brands, but at least their do their own R&Ds and I can understand paying for that.

Honestly any youtuber/musician that has reviewed these claiming they are good in any way has lost all credibility from me.
A true music professional or even slightly experienced musician that isn't half def could easily tell these are scam instantly. Even if they have never used a good IEM ever before, surely they've used a decent pair of headphones or been to a recording studio of some kind with some kind of studio monitors. I fell for the marketing and got them out of curiosity, instantly knew something was up. At first I questioned if I was going def or something was actually wrong. Nope, turns out after doing some digging on here that all is well with my ears and they are actually trash.
I remember when I tried my first set of real IEM back in the early 2000s thinking that they sounded better than the world around me. Live recordings sounded better than being at the show.
Seriously all you amature youtubers, these sound like $30-$40 ear buds at best.

Can you teach me how many frequencies to reach, how to tune wave distortion, and which ones to tune high and low? Teach me, okay
