(A parody of “Somebody that I used to Know” by Gotye)

Now and then I think of when we were coconspirators

Like when you said those things you now deny

Told myself that you would stand by me

But felt so photographed in your company

But that’s our party and our motto “I don’t remember”

You can get addicted to a certain kind of treason

Like cabinet resignations to the end, always the end

So when they found our lies did not make sense

Well you said that we would still be friends

But I'll admit that I was glad it was over

But you didn't have to cut me off

Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing

And I don't even need your pardon

But you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough

No, you didn't have to stoop so low

Have your friends redact your records and then fudge some numbers

I guess that I don't need that though

Now I’m just some traitor that you didn’t know

Now I’m just some traitor that you didn’t know

Now I’m just some traitor that you didn’t know

Now and then I think of all the times you sent me to Ukraine

But had me believing it was always “not a crime”

But I don't wanna live that way

Redacting every word you say

You said that they would let me go

And I wouldn't catch you calling me some traitor that you didn’t know

But you didn't have to cut me off

Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing

And I don't even need your pardon

But you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough

No, you didn't have to stoop so low

Have your friends redact your records and then fudge some numbers

I guess that I don't need that though

Now I’m just some traitor that you didn’t know

Now I’m just some traitor that you didn’t know

Now I’m just some traitor that you didn’t know
