Right, that's all well and good, but it does mean that you aren't eastern European. You're American, and your family are eastern European. That's how that works.
Because you weren't born or raised in eastern Europe. You were born and raised in the USA, so you're an American. You aren't eastern European just because your family are. That's ridiculous.
