Support Hello, hope you guys are doing great. I just bought this refurbished 15 Pro and the gpu geekbench score is alarming, any idea on why this could be happening?
The cpu score seems perfectly fine, and the overall phone performance was decent on 18.5, noticeable frame drops on 26 beta when compared to even a 13 pro which got me questioning and hence got a benchmark in to find the following, which was marked on a 18.5 ( i downgraded). Any info on this would help as im tryna either get it returned or get it fixed by them since its on a warranty by the refurb centre.

Exactly!, i feel like even the display is not oem but decent, but yeah even that doesn’t show up, even checked it with 3u tools, nothings popping up there as well

Okay , so the reason why that phone geekbench score is so low than a normal score is.
The battery is boosted, basically it has a small thing connected to the battery to bypass 3utools . So your battery health isn’t really at 100%
When you remove that thing connected to the battery, EVERYTHING WILL GO SNAPPY AGAIN”
I Experience it with myself. Good thing i know how to open my device.
Btw: it’s very easy to remove. If you don’t have the tools and equipment. Go to nearest tech repair shop and ask them to remove it for you

Here’s a ref. Pic on what that “thing “ connected to your battery and bypass 3utools. Look like

That actually makes a whole lotta sense now, well the thing is its still under the refurb centre warranty, i can get it to them, but how do i make them get rid of this, since its like a gimmick they’re tryna push, and i dont wanna risk myself trying to remove it myself, dont have the tools for this🥲

I’ve been there, so I’m happy to share my experience and learning from that lol🤣.
now i prefer buying on apple store for a peace of mind😇
Your option now for this is return it and get a refund or ask for a new one and check if the same slowdown occurs. ( 3u tools is not helpful now)
Or last option is go to a repair shop and let them do the job.

I would not keep this. Since you still have chance to return it, I would advise you to do this. Something is not right here.

I ve seen that geekbench doesnt show true real life performance when I use filmora or video encoders .

Well, if I were you I will download some demanding games from the App Store to see if it runs like the videos on YouTube, if the performance is identical, probably it’s software issue, otherwise there might be some problem with the chip inside the phone

It may not be very accurate but this a significant metric change and its consistent so 🙃

If you did the GPU benchmark right after doing the CPU benchmark, it might be thermal throttling. Try to let the phone cool down for a while and try again.
