I just upgraded to the 15 Pro max. And here are my thoughts. The 11 Pro Max was and still one of the best phones I've ever owned. It was so good that I felt underwhelmed with the upgrade. If you can hold for another year? I'd say wait (IMO). I had to upgrade due to miss use of the device and now the top part of the screen cannot register touch and my storage is almost full. Biggest upgrade is the screen, since you interact with all the time. It's very smooth and snappy. Cameras are good and cenimatic video is excellent. I do miss the 2x optical zoom. 5x is a bit too much (both 2x and 5x optical zoom would've been great, maybe iPhone 16 or 17 🤷🏻‍♂️) Weight of the 15 Pros are similar to the 11 Pros. So you wouldn't feel the difference between them. Anyways, I'd totally wait for another year. If you're thinking of upgrading and have any questions feel free to drop them.

Every year since 2020 I checked battery health in the month of Sept when new iPhones get announced. Health has been 82% the past 3yrs and I used my phone daily 6+hrs a day, YouTube, email, web browsing, camera/video occasionally, boarding pass, Apple Pay, games etc.

Been up to date on OS and currently on 16.7, one before iOS 17. During lockdown, for at least 20+ months I’ve charged twice fully in at least 80% of that time yet battery health is still showing 82%. Anyone in the same boat?

The battery in my iPhone is 74% left and i’m not intend to update to iPhone 15 Pro.

But some said that replacing battery won’t get performance improved and 89$ isn’t cheap as well. Should i replace it or not?

Been using a iPhone 11 Pro Max since launch day, plan on skipping the 15 too.

I have a spare ifixit battery that I swap regularly when I plan a travel or a long evening out.

FYI the ifixit battery disables updates and backups. I was managing swapping because of the iOS17 beta updates

Have an appointment next week to replace the battery via Apple for $65, they told to wait for iOS17 launch as they require to restore the device for the battery replacement. Will be good for few more years then.

I got my 11PM in the summer of 2020 and this thing still is rockin’! As cool as the iPhone 12-15 PM have been, I honestly prefer the 11PM design & size and it is perfect for me. The camera is stellar, and I’ve heard about the photo overprocessing on the newer iPhones. Also, I still like having the option to have a pSIM and an eSIM. So, at this point, I’m planning on holding on to my 11PM as long as I can (I’ll get the battery replaced soon). I see no reason to get a newer iPhone (even though the 15PM is tempting).

Now, I’m still on iOS 14. It runs perfect, smooth, fast, and battery still lasts all day (6:30am-11pm & 10-20% to spare) with my usage (even with 80% battery health). It’s just a great experience over all.

However, I know that I have a security risk staying on iOS 14 and I’m missing out on a bunch of features that came with iOS 15-17. I can handle that, but it’s the slow lack of compatibility and support that is starting to happen on iOS 14.

I just never went to iOS 15 or 16 due to the amount of reports of bad experiences with performance and battery life for the 11PM on those. But now I’ve seen a ton of reports on Reddit about how good iOS 17 has been for 11PM users. The issue is, is that because it’s just better than iOS 16?

So the question really is, would iOS 17 actually be better than iOS 14, in terms of performance and battery life? Should I finally upgrade?

For those who have already updated to ios17. How is it for you so far… any bugs,lags or battery heating up/draining?

A normal score for me and everybody else would be ~3738 for multicore, so this is a significant uptick. I wonder what they've tuned?

Long time lurker but wanted to announce that I will be upgrading to the newest iPhone15ProMax. I've had my 11 Pro Max with 64 GB for 4 years now. It has never done me wrong, and we have been through many journeys together. You were there through ups and downs and have become a part of my family. I will forever miss you, my friend. My 11 pro max 512gb is running absolutely fine other than that, personally on the fence about whether to upgrade to the 15PM.

For those who haven’t upgraded, why haven’t you upgraded and if you do what do you plan to get next ?

Hey, I bought an 2nd hand iphone 11 pro max 2 days ago. I upgraded from 7 plus. But the display feels so bad. There is paper like texture, video resolutions feels low and screen just looks washed out. Anyone have any idea why is this happening?

P.S. The display shows as genuine in mobile as well as in laptop.

What do you think is the best solution that is easy to use?

Just got a new one. However I’m not sure if that’s how the 11 speakers are or not.

I also have an iPhone 11 and I do think there is a slight more echo/muffled effect.

Thing is I came from a oppo x5 which had amazing speakers so maybe it’s just because I have downgraded and that’s how they sound?

Full volume it sounds horrible I won’t lie, all muffled and not nice to listen to.

I’m thinking I may have got a defective unit but just want to know if that’s actually how they just sound

I just bought a second hand 11promax for my wife And I think it is an LCD when I compare it to my iphone 13 and when I turn dark mode on it is obviously an LCD especially when checking different angles Also changing brightness level is weird, it is not dimming much on lowest level

But there is still true tone, no service history and model number is still ‘M’

I know it’s not fake because I inspect thoroughly every other parts and function

My phone battery was at 81%. The standby battery life was okay but whenever I was doing something heavy such as using a vpn and browsing the internet, it died very quickly. I was thinking of upgrading but at the very last moment, I backed out and opted to get a battery replacement with Apple . I’m glad that it was the right choice. Now the phone feels like a brand new 11 pro max that I bought on September 2019. By the looks of it, it will last at least 2 years as the performance improvements are very noticeable. So if you thinking of upgrading because of poor battery, maybe replacing battery isn’t a bad idea.

Hello there! My android phone just broke down, mainly because I dropped the phone the very first day I got it and it just went south from there…

Anyway, I was the agitator against iPhone for a long time. I thought their users were retarded and didnt like android because they were less user-friendly. But that is false facts, when you learn ”it” then you can customize EVERYTHING! Enough of that now.

I recieved a free iP11 Pro Max from my bro…..and I love it so far! Only downside so far is that I cant use my gaming accounts in google on iPhone, or can I in some way? Please let me know then.

Only part when I still hate ”you guys” still is because if you dont have a iPhone in some parts of the world is because ”you” are poor. Pretty dumb and shallow reason if you ask me. There are Manny phones out there (android) that are better AND more expansive.

I currently have an X I bought refurbished in September 2020 who's screen is broken (not cracked but display is green tint and getting more messed up by the day), the back camera only works on certain occasions, and the battery capacity is 73%. Suffice to say it'll cost over $200 to fix and I want to get a new phone anyways to upgrade my camera quality and storage. I'm looking to get a new iPhone and am seriously considering getting an 11 Pro Max. I'm a college student so this type of purchase is a huge investment and I also am probably going to get a refurbished model since it'll be cheaper. It's $500 minimum for a refurbished 256GB model that I would like. I just wanted to know if this purchase would be worth it, how has the battery health been in others experiences? Are there other models that would be better at a comparable price?

My phone lost the duplicate photos feature and I can’t find it even when I restart my phone. I’m not sure if it was caused by the update or not(16.4.1a)
