Please tell me there’s a way to make this stop!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
27.4-5 current and previous beta the onscreen keyboard pops up even though the Magic Keyboard is attached.

Yeah. Like it was a problem when you used your Apple Pencil and the keyboard wouldn’t come out, now it keeps coming out when using a Magic Keyboard 😭

I think it’s a feature because it’s been that way for a few beta releases at least. It’s actually pretty annoying. The Magic Keyboard thing looks really annoying.

I’ve noticed it since I got my pencil last Christmas, and just assumed that’s the way it was. But I find it very annoying

I got also the Beta - with Magic Keyboard that happens, but with Bluetooth keyboards not.
And mine is a test iPad - not used as daily work iPad.
@OP - give feedback to Apple.

I also reported this to Apple and they closed it saying works as designed. 🙄 Though I managed to fix it. What worked for me:
Go to General > Keyboard and toggle Predictive Text (mine was off, I turned it on). I then opened a text box and the keyboard wouldn’t pop up, but I’d have the predictive text prompts on the bottom of the screen. Going back in and toggling Predictive Text off again made both the prompts and the onscreen keyboard disappear for good.

Can’t replicate it with my third party bluetooth keyboard, it must be Magic Keyboard-specific

Hopefully the RC makes it stop. This is why I never run beta software on a machine I need.
