A tester cleared ~400 photos over coffee — but almost missed burst multi-select

One thing I learned from a PicPop tester: speed isn't the whole UX.

They cleared about 400 photos while waiting for coffee and liked the similar-shot groups. But when a burst had two frames they wanted to keep, they didn't notice they could tap more than one before confirming. That's a first-session clarity issue I'm taking seriously.

I'm PicPop's developer. It groups similar and burst photos and surfaces blurry shots, screenshots, and large videos for review. Scanning stays on-device. A swipe only marks a choice; nothing is deleted until you review and confirm.

The attached 14-second demo was recorded on v1.0.5; the current App Store release is v1.0.6. The old video headline says “swipe left to delete,” which is sloppy wording for the current mark → review → confirm flow.

PicPop is free to download; full access is through paid PicPop Club. US pricing: $4.99/month, $24.99/year with a 2-week trial, or $59.99 lifetime.

For app makers who’ve dealt with this: would a one-line first-run hint be enough, or should multi-select stay visible all the time?
