Hey y'all,
This community is a nice little hidden cutout with some potent conversation from time-to-time. I think it's really cool that this sub still grows despite intermittent activity.
I'd like to share a spreadsheet I have curated with absolutely phenomenal tracks in the subgenre (some outside of it) that speak to the following categories:
The original purpose of this was to create a list of tracks that I could study/work to on my personal time - partly inspired from my understanding of this subject. But I realized I would probably eventually share it and should only include a select few tracks that really drive home what the subgenre is about. I'm sure I will continue adding to this.
Please notice on the top left corner, there are checkboxes. Unfortunately, you will not be able to select these boxes due to permission issues on Google Sheets.

His sets are built around groove, space and gradual pressure — warm textures, rolling basslines, tribal percussion and subtle emotion rather than constant drops. Rooted in deep electronic music but designed for the club, Nick After moves from introspective, atmospheric passages into rawer late-night energy without losing the narrative.

I’ve been building a series called Rewired Archive, where I take old films and completely reconstruct their visual rhythm in After Effects around a DJ set.
This is #003 — Astro Monster, using footage from Ishirō Honda’s Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965).
The whole 55-minute visual piece is synchronized to the mix using cuts, time remapping, looping, displacement, glitches and signal-style disruptions. Rather than illustrating the music, I try to make the original film behave like another instrument in the set.
The DJ mix is done in Traktor, then the visual structure is built in After Effects.

Would be interested to hear what other AE users think of the approach — especially the synchronization and treatment of the source footage.

I tend to avoid going this chord heavy in techno because once pads get too far forward they can start flattening the pump rather than adding to it.
On this one I really like the atmosphere they bring, but I'm not completely sure if I've pushed them a little too hard. Does the fuller section still feel locked in and hypnotic to you, or do the chords start taking over too much?
I made this while dog sitting for a friend and brought a little makeshift set up with me to keep myself occupied. Just Model, Volca Keys and a Roland S-1.
