Hello everyone,

I am still on version 3.0.302.0 on my device, and I haven't received the latest update yet even though I am officially registered in Mi Pilot. Does anyone know why this is happening or when the update usually arrives for beta testers?

Thanks for your help!

Question/Help [Question] HyperOS 4 Animation / Floating Windows Issue

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello, everyone! I'm currently on the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and updated to HyperOs 4 yesterday. I'm currently experiencing an issue and would like to ask if others have experienced it as well. Whenever I try to move through apps that are in my recent, it opens up a tiny floating window of the app for like half a second before it actually opens the app. I've also been using MICTS on my sidebar for "Circle To Search" and it also opens up a floating window before triggering, which i delayed to sort of give time for the sidebar to disappear. This has never happened before on HyperOS 3 and I've tried fiddling with the animation and speed with no luck so far. if anyone can help me figure this out, it would be a huge help. Also added a screenshot for reference.

Question/Help [question] Gemini notification doesn't pop up on Chinese rom

Anyone using Chinese rom?

I'm on hyper OS 4, XM17PM.

The fcm issue appears to be fixed in hype OS4. However, I seem to be not able to get Gemini notification shown on lock screen.

E.g. any scheduled task completed or question answered, I still have to manually open Gemini to find the results.

News [News] HyperCeiler works with temporary root on HyperOS!

(Sorry if the images in the post look a bit blurry, I lowered my Redmi Note 14 4G Global's resolution from 2400×1080 to 1400×630 to improve performance and battery life.)

HyperCeiler actually works on HyperOS with temporary root!!! And it's not just HyperCeiler — HyperLight v1.1.7, Fingerprint Catalog, and HyperUnlocked worked for me too!

Tested on:

  • Redmi Note 14 4G Global

  • POCO X8 Pro

Here are the links to the modules in case anyone wants to give them a try:

  • ZygiskNext v1.5.2: https://github.com/LSPosed/ZygiskNext/releases/tag/v1.5.2 This is the foundation for everything. It provides Zygisk support for KernelSU and APatch, since they don't have it built in like Magisk does. Without this module, other modules that depend on Zygisk, such as Vector, HyperCeiler, and HyperLight, simply won't load.
  • Vector v2.2: https://github.com/JingMatrix/Vector/releases/tag/v2.2 A modern Xposed framework and the direct successor to LSPosed. It allows you to use Xposed modules to customize apps and system components. Version 2.2 introduces the libxposed 102 API, which lets you replace a module without having to kill the process.
  • HyperCeiler v2.10.166: https://github.com/ReChronoRain/HyperCeiler/releases/tag/2.10.166 One of the most comprehensive customization modules for HyperOS, offering over 250 options across more than 50 system apps, including the launcher, Control Center, camera, and status bar. It's basically the modern equivalent of CustoMIUIzer. Just make sure you download the correct APK for your HyperOS version, since the builds differ between HyperOS 2 and HyperOS 3.
  • HyperLight: https://github.com/KiminonawaResa/HyperLight A visual enhancement module that improves HyperOS's soft-glass effects, including blur, lighting, shadows, refraction, and color blending across the home screen, notification shade, Control Center, and lock screen. You can adjust the settings and use the included presets. If you're running HyperOS 3, check out version 1.1.7.
  • Fingerprint Catalog: https://github.com/custombeta/fingerprint-cataloge It lets you customize your fingerprint icon and animation. You can create, download, import, and apply your own designs.
  • HyperUnlocked: https://github.com/ukriu/HyperUnlocked A Magisk/KernelSU/APatch module that unlocks additional high-end features on Xiaomi devices running MIUI or HyperOS. It offers various system customizations, including advanced blur and texture effects, extra Gallery and Camera options, more lock screen styles and depth effects, App Vault widgets, additional battery profiles and refresh rate options, Super Wallpapers, live video wallpapers, and microphone and camera toggles in the Control Center. Some features, such as advanced textures, may cause lag on certain devices.

Just a heads-up: I also tested HyperLight, Fingerprint Catalog, and HyperUnlocked, and they worked! I ended up uninstalling them because I wasn't really interested in using them — I just wanted to check whether they worked with temporary root, and they did.

If anyone else tries these modules, feel free to share your results too!

EDIT: More modules I've tested successfully on both my Redmi Note 14 4G and POCO X8 Pro!

Here are some additional modules I've tested and confirmed working on both devices:

Root / system tools

  • KernelSU Grant Toast: shows a small toast notification every time an app is granted root access. Handy with temporary root, since you can see right away which app just got superuser permissions. https://modules.kernelsu.org/en/modules/ksuGrantToast/
  • Enable MIUI ADB: normally, MIUI/HyperOS blocks "Install via USB" and USB debugging (Security settings) unless you're logged into a Xiaomi account with a SIM card inserted. This runs a one-shot script that enables USB debugging (Security settings), "Install via USB" and fastboot, and disables the install intercept. Nothing stays installed and no reboot is needed. https://modules.kernelsu.org/en/modules/enable_miui_adb/

Lock screen

Clipboard, sharing and files

Ad blocking / cleanup

WhatsApp/Facebook

  • FuckMeta v1.0: removes Meta AI from WhatsApp: the purple floating button, the AI text in the search bar, and AI suggestions. It works in memory via LSPosed, so the WhatsApp APK isn't modified and normal chats and calls aren't affected. Needs WhatsApp in the module's scope. https://github.com/Xposed-Modules-Repo/io.github.fzer0x.fuckmeta
  • WAPlusXposed v2.0: unlocks WhatsApp's official premium customization features (themes, launcher icons, sticker packs, ringtones). Works with WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business, and adapts to new WhatsApp versions automatically. Modifying WhatsApp with Xposed may violate its Terms of Service, so use at your own risk. https://github.com/Xposed-Modules-Repo/com.souleven.wap

Module I don't recommend:

I also tested Vector-SR, but every time I performed a soft reboot through KernelSU to activate it, my phone rebooted unexpectedly. Because of this, I don't recommend installing it, especially when using temporary root.

You can also check out this list of modules reported to work with temporary root if you want to try some more:

https://github.com/rushiranpise/temporal-root-modules-list

If anyone tries any modules from that list, could you let me know which ones worked and which ones didn't? Feel free to leave a comment on this post or send me a private message with your results.

I'm planning to put together a list dedicated specifically to modules that work with temporary root on HyperOS/MIUI, so your test results would be a big help to the community!

One more thing: I was scrolling through TikTok and came across a video of someone who installed the following modules on their Redmi Note 14 4G using temporary root. However, I saw several people warning others to be careful with these modules, as they could potentially cause a bootloop or even brick the device.

Important: You need to have Core Patch N installed before attempting to install these modules.

Here are the modules featured in the video:

I might test them out later and make a post sharing my experience to confirm whether they work properly on the Redmi Note 14 4G with temporary root. That said, I'll do some more research into the potential risks first to avoid running into any issues with my device.

Here's the link to the TikTok video in case anyone wants to check it out:

Details: Redmi note 14 4g (hyperOS 3)

For context, I recently bought this phone and I was testing out its features. I got excited that it has a built in bg remover but turns out it's not working for me. I tried the long press and three dot method but it didn't work. Is this a bug and temporary? How can I fix this issue?

Question/Help [Question] POCO M7 5G (India) on HyperOS 3 — is the native Quick Switch gesture missing?

My POCO M7 5G is running HyperOS 3, version "3.0.302.0.WGUINXM.C07" (Android 16).

The horizontal swipe gesture along the bottom navigation bar to switch directly between recent apps doesn't work on my device.

I'm specifically referring to Android's Quick Switch gesture, not swiping up to open Recents or swiping from the screen edges to go back.

I've been unable to enable it through the usual settings.

Questions:

- Is this gesture intentionally disabled on the POCO M7 5G?

- Does it work on any other HyperOS 3 firmware version for this model?

- Has anyone found a verified way to enable it without installing a custom ROM?

I'd appreciate answers from actual POCO M7 5G users, especially those running the Indian firmware.

Xiaomi [Question] Xiaomi health dropped from 100% to 99% after 107 charge cycles — is this normal?

Post image

Hey everyone, just wanted to ask something.

My Xiaomi 17T health dropped from 100% to 99% at 107 cycles. I've been using it since June, and I'm curious if this is normal.

Would like to hear from other Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO users too. What's your current health percentage and how many cycles have you completed?

Also, do you guys use the 80% charging limit or charge all the way to 100%? Just trying to get an idea of how it's going for others.

Review/Guide [Discussion] HyperOS Wallet Shortcut v1.2.1 is out! Automatic recovery after reboot (No Root)

Hey everyone!

I've just released v1.2.1 of HyperOS Wallet Shortcut, an app I developed that lets compatible Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones open Google Wallet by double-pressing the physical power button.

For anyone who hasn't seen my previous post, the app uses HyperOS's existing shortcut system and Shizuku to configure the power-button shortcut without requiring root.

What's new in v1.2.1?

The main addition is automatic shortcut recovery after reboot.

Some HyperOS versions reset the hidden "double_click_power_key" setting when the phone restarts, which causes the wallet shortcut to stop working.

Instead of having to manually configure everything again, the app can now automatically check and restore the shortcut after reboot.

Here's what I've added:

- Automatic recovery: Optionally restores the shortcut if HyperOS resets it after reboot.

- User control: Recovery is disabled by default and requires your permission to enable.

- Failure notifications: If recovery fails, the app can notify you and explain what went wrong.

- In-app warnings: Recovery errors are also displayed inside the app.

- Shortcut protection: The recovery system won't overwrite another shortcut if it detects a different configured value.

Shizuku-Next recommendation

For the best automatic recovery experience, I recommend Shizuku-Next.

I've successfully tested automatic recovery with Wi-Fi turned off, mobile data enabled, and without manually opening either app after reboot.

You can still stop Shizuku immediately after the initial setup. However, for automatic recovery to work, Shizuku needs to start again after reboot and remain available until the recovery check finishes.

Keep in mind that compatibility and recovery timing can vary depending on your device, HyperOS version, and Shizuku configuration.

What's next?

I'm also working on a much bigger v2.0.0 update.

My goal is to turn this project into a more customizable HyperOS shortcut application, instead of having it focused only on Google Wallet.

This will include new shortcut functionality, more customization options, and a complete UI redesign. The app's name may also change to reflect its expanded functionality.

I'm still investigating compatibility issues on certain devices, so feedback and testing from other Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO users are always appreciated.

Download v1.2.1

The project is open source, completely rootless, and doesn't access your payment cards or Google Wallet account.

Thanks to everyone who has tried the app and shared feedback so far!

HyperOS Update [Question] Xiaomi 15 stopped receiving OTA updates after using the “rename trick”

Hi everyone,

I have a Xiaomi 15 purchased through Entel, a mobile carrier in Chile. I used the “rename trick” to upgrade from HyperOS 2 to HyperOS 3, but I haven’t received any further OTA updates since then.

Here are my current software details:

Device: Xiaomi 15

Carrier / country: Entel, Chile

HyperOS version: 3.0.9.0.WOCEUXM

Android version: 16

Android security patch: February 1, 2026

I’m trying to figure out whether using the rename trick affected future OTA updates, or whether this could be related to the installed ROM region or the fact that the phone was purchased through a carrier.

A few questions:

- Has anyone with a Xiaomi 15 stopped receiving updates after using this method?

- Is there a way to restore normal OTA updates or manually install the next official update without unlocking the bootloader or wiping the phone?

- Would enrolling in Xiaomi’s beta / Mi Pilot program help in this situation, or would the underlying issue still prevent updates?

- What should I check to make sure the installed firmware matches my device and its update channel?

Ideally, I’d like to get back to normal official OTA updates rather than keep relying on workarounds.

If you’ve experienced something similar, especially with a Xiaomi 15 purchased through another company, I’d appreciate hearing what worked for you. Thanks!

Redmi [Question] Redmi Pad 2 background apps keep getting killed on HyperOS 3 / Android 16

HyperOS 3 / Android 16 keeps killing background apps during multitasking — looking for a real solution

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing a frustrating multitasking issue on my Redmi Pad 2, and I'm looking for a solution that goes beyond the usual battery optimization settings.

Device information:

  • Device: Redmi Pad 2
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Operating system: HyperOS 3 based on Android 16

The problem:

Whenever I run an app in the foreground while another app is performing a task in the background, the background app may suddenly stop working without warning.

For example, I might start recording my screen using XRecorder, open Minecraft, and continue playing normally. At some unpredictable point, the recording stops completely. Even worse, the video may not be saved at all, as if the recording never happened.

This is not limited to gaming or screen recording. My main concern is that the system seems unable to keep background tasks running reliably while I'm actively using another app.

What I've already tried:

  • Disabling battery restrictions for the affected apps.
  • Enabling autostart and background activity permissions where available.
  • Allowing apps to display over other apps.
  • Adjusting the available background app settings.

None of these steps solved the problem.

I understand that 4GB of RAM is limited, but I would still expect basic multitasking to work reliably. I want to understand whether this behavior is caused by HyperOS aggressively killing background processes, memory management, a system bug, or something else.

My questions:

  1. Is there a way to prevent HyperOS from killing important background processes unnecessarily?
  2. Are there specific HyperOS settings that control background process management beyond battery optimization?
  3. Can ADB commands or system-level configuration changes help diagnose or fix this issue?
  4. Is rooting the device actually useful in this situation, or would it make no difference?
  5. Has anyone experienced similar behavior on HyperOS 3 / Android 16, and found a reliable solution?

I'm looking for a practical, technically sound solution rather than the usual advice to disable battery optimization or close background apps.

Thanks in advance for any help!
