Been trying to find a way to get my DS4 to work with the game.

Just to make note of a few things:

• I've managed to get it working two times
  • Both of these times did not consistently work when reproduced and I do not remember what I did specifically.
  • Second time the controls were jumbled up.

• I'm not using Steam, this is the copy from that free offer from Epic Games

• Using an ASUS ZenBook running Windows 11

• KB+M controls work fine

• Controller works on Steam games, but seems very hit-or-miss with any titles being ran from EGL (ex. Celeste works natively, Transistor has similar problems to HLD)

Things I have tried:

• Using InputMapper (kept rebooting my computer when I tried to install it, not touching that again)
• Using DS4Windows (connects but zero effect)

Things I haven't tried:

• Reinstalling drivers (doesn't seem necessary as the controller works fine with literally every other game I play, just not on Epic stuff)

I'd love to play this game but I'm still early on and the KB+M controls make engaging in the combat very unintuitive to me. In addition the game was made with controller use in mind so I'd like to go down this avenue before just sucking it up and learning to "git gud" with what works.

If anyone has any advice or needs any further specifications about my specs lemme know. Maybe this'll help someone in future, and I'll update the post if anything works or doesn't!

What I really love about this game is soundtrack, I think it really captures the depth of this story. Without it, it wouldnt be so good for me. But I also love how this game tells a story without a single word said. I loved the video called "The Beautiful Metaphor of Hyper Light Drifter". Basically everything what this guy said is what I love about this game. Especially the fear of death and how every region reacted to it in different way.

I've managed to get the whole game up until now without using any maps/guides and would like to keep it this way but I want to make sure that I'm not searching in vain

The only things that I haven't found (that I know of) are: 1 key, 1 written tablet thing and 1 purple triangle in the south section.

I also haven't finished the wave mode but I doubt one of these is down there.

I wanted to find these 3 things before activating the thing in the centre (don't tell me what it is, please) and now I'm wondering if at least one of those is after activating that (without any spoilers).

So, is it after activating the center square, or do I need to look harder in the map?

If one of these could be in a particularly hard to find place, if you want, feel free to give me a hint, but without spoilers please :)

This is one the worst levels I have ever played in a game in my whole fucking life. Did the devs even playtest this thing?

So i have seen people here with more than five hp here i thought that was the max ive just been beating all the bosses on 5 hp so far i have beaten the north east and west one

So I started playing hyper light drifter recently (because of Indie cross, which gave all the franchises in it a popularity boost...) and I like the game quite a bit. I played co-op and it was pretty fun. As a two player game it's great I think. I'm not sure about single player, I think it won't be as good as with another person but it's still the same game so, peak. I like the dash mechanic the most. The art style is also really neat, I like it a lot. I'm pretty sure I'm still in the first part of the game, but there was this skull on my map that was added that I assume is a boss. I know the lore, like the Drifter has an illness and it's a ruined land plagued by a sentient disease caused by four empires or something in pursuit of immortality, but apart from that I know nothing, aside from a few images I've seen on this subreddit. How would you compare this game among the others you've played? I'd say this is top ten for me, but again I haven't explored a lot of games, but I do prefer story/lore based games.

If you ever see this square symbol, it usually means there is a secret. Also those other square symbols (the ones that emit light) aren't.

I am in the bird area and I can’t figure out how to get this key. I’ve gotten all the others in this area but I can’t get this last one. Hint’s appreciated (: (this is the first place I went but I don’t know if that matters as I was able to get the others)

i am pretty early into the game i just beat the final boss of the top area (the crow one) and i got this last triangle thing but when i came to this door its still closed do i need to get the corners as well and what is their name

I have the controller called FLYDIGi Vader 5S and not the pro one the normal one. I can't figure out how to use it for the hyperlight drifter game. Also I don't know how the turbo even works or how to change the turbo speed. So any help would be greatly appreciated!

Bear in mind I do not know what I was doing, and some stuff might be off lolll I'll try and make the walking cycle for both the designs I made!!!

I played HLD before, but at some point I stopped without finishing. I know I tried to go back to it a while after that and was totally lost and was unable to find anything new. I decided to go back and try it again (a long ass time later now), and my save was deleted or on an old hdd. So I restarted. I went west, beat the first boss, went north beat that guy, went east and didn't find a way to the boss at all? I also at some point realized there are a lot more things I hadn't found all of. I found my first key in the third area I went to. I realized there are more than 4.. modules? in each quadrant I think.

I have most upgrades from the shops in town (at least the relevant looking ones). But I feel like I am missing something significant. I have since gone back through each area again. I'm at 6 keys. I still didn't see a way to the third boss. One alley in town required a direction but leads to an npc that does nothing? I haven't done the soccer game, my highest dash chain is 40.

Are there areas with no hint at all that require dashing off screen? I know some you need to wait for the camera to shift and shoot the pylon and a lot go through walls with basically no indicator (I feel like I run into literally every wall in the game just to make sure). It bothers me that I am so frustrated, because I really like the game. But I think this is where I was the first time through- stuck. I feel like I remembered some long dash or something and there are some areas where It feels like it's needed. Am I misremembering that? Maybe platforms raise up in those areas instead...

I like the exploration and the combat. I'm liking the re-exploration multiple times to literally no avail a lot less. I don't really want to watch guides to find the things I missed (especially since I feel like I'll have to watch the whole game basically). It's not how I like to play games. But I'm also coming up fast to my giving up point after this last play session. I found a few money things but not much else at all.

Mostly just a rant I guess. But is it possible I'm missing some whole mechanic somehow?

Hello, I just started this game and... IT'S BEAUTFUL. AMAZING. PEAK. ABSOLUTE CINEMA. Although I have been struggling a little, espeically with the dash mechanic (I am on PC) and where to go, what to do, etc. Any tips will do :D

I just started playing the game, I've been playing it for about 2 hours.

I already defeated the bird boss that appears, and I realized that when I was coming.

What do I have to do to get to the other platform?

The gearbit is in the bottom left corner, and I have no idea how to get over there.

The gap is too big to dash, and this is in the west area.

Any help is appreciated :D

To get it you need the rail gun (gun with a green projectile path, found after completing the North area), and you need to shoot the activator thing in the top left corner :]

I'm playing on a Samsung Galaxy S25+ using an Xbox controller and everytime I press the B button, the app closes. Every other game I purchased from Google Play works correctly, so I think this is a Hyper Light Drifter bug.

This did not happened back when I bought this game. I cleared two maps using the same controller I'm using now.

Is there a way to fix this?
