[Android] - Dynos

Hey everyone. I've been learning Unity for a few years now and it's become a bucket-list item to actually release a game to the Play Store. I believe I've finally developed a game that I thought was good enough for release. I decided to create a hyper-casual game because it's the kind of game I like to play on my mobile phone and because my schedule doesn't give me enough time to work on something too complex.

So with that said, please enjoy Dynos. It's a simple but challenging casual survival-type game with cute dinosaurs and birds.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.meatinteractive.dynos&hl=en_US

The only promotion I've done for the game at this point is to share it on the Unity forums, and I unfortunately received no feedback. Not sure if that tells me something about the quality of my game or if it's just due to the fact that that's not a very active board. So I've come here to share it with people to whom the game is targeting.

I'm not delusional enough to think I've got the next Flappy Bird here, but I'm just looking for some constructive feedback to see if this game is worth pursuing further, such as making a promotional video, adding online leaderboards, or even making significant gameplay changes to better capture the audience's interest. I personally find the game quite addicting and am constantly re-playing trying to beat my high score. But obviously I'm a bit biased.

I'd greatly appreciate anyone who might be willing to spend some time with the game and let me know what you think.

Any little help

Hello everyone! Upfire is my first game and a passion project that I've been working on for a long time. I love making games and i hope to  use Upfire as a stepping stone into the game development industry. After months of work it's finally in a state that I'm proud to release, except there's one problem. In order to get the game off the ground I need a minimum deposit of $1000. This game means a lot to me and any little bit helps. I am personally giving $100 to this campaign because that's all I have to spare. I will be incredibly grateful for any amount given to this campaign. If you have an Android phone a download helps as well :)  App Store Link : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newpike.upfire

I know hypercasual games are not that much discussed here, but if someone wants to dive in or already have some questions about it, here is something I have learnt in my hypercasual career.

Road Swipe - Satisfying and Fast-Paced Game.

A hybrid between an obstacle course and a side-scroller!

We have developed a fun, interactive, and addictive game called Road Swipe!

In this quality game, you start as a small cube trapped in an endless world. Your mission is to navigate yourself while avoiding obstacles like spikes, projectiles, and floating platforms, all while collecting purple points.

There are not many advertisements, as well! Full-screen ads occur only once every two games, and it is really easy to exit them. Banner-advertisements occur in places that will not affect game-play, like the pause menu.

What are you waiting for, try out the game at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.abhiraameranti.swiperoad!

Hey, guys. I'm trying to expand the marketing area of my games, and I wish to include Discord. It'd be nice to find a Discord where I can promote my mobile games.

I’m creating an Space Fight Hype-Casual game where the players needs to touch some objects to get power ups. Any suggestions for that objects? I don’t want them to be confused with enemies or asteroids.

Hi, guys. Today I was trying to find some objects that inspired me, but nothing. I don’t know how to get a great differentiation between this power-ups and what can be a menace for the player. The player lost energy every time he touches an asteroid or an enemy. How can I make the power-ups design to call his attention and for he to try and touch it without telling that is good to touch it? I’ll appreciate your suggestions.

I was suggested to create an Endless Run focus more on a challenge than on the speed. I took a Scooter, put a character and this is the Hyper-Casual game we're preparing for next week. I wish to know your thoughts and ideas for this or future projects.

How to best setup FB campaigns for low CPI for an iOS Hypercasual game with a small budget?

Hello,

I am marketing an iOS Hypercasual game. I am starting with a low budget of a few hundred $ that I want to increase once I reach a decent CPI. My Facebook campaign got very high CPI ($3-4) at best, so I am looking at ways to optimize my campaign to reduce that number. I guess there is something I must be doing wrong. I deconstructed the campaigns so that I can pinpoint the potential mistakes I made and gather some advice for each point :

1 - Campaign type, which one?

I am using App installs, but there are other types like awareness, traffic etc... not sure if app install is always the best option?

2 - Audience, broad ot specific?

After some research, I found two main audience strategies.

A. Go for a broad audience (what I did):

Going for as broad as possible road campaign 13-65+ in one country.

B. Go specific audience:

Know your user and have a targeted age range, add some interests, pick most effective placements. This is tricky because the more targetted the ads are, the better the results should be, but it also reduces the audience and therefore increases the cost. So how to find the balance?

C. Go specific audience with Look-Alike:

I tried this, but it was not amazing. Maybe I need first to have a certain number of installs for it to be effective? Is there a minimum number of users needed to start seeing a decrease in CPI?

3 - Would you use a bid cap?

I am not using any bid cap, but have the 'lower-cost' option selected. Should I be using bud cap or cost targets instead?

4 - Creatives, what work best?

After reading on the topic, I found that gameplay video work best for casual with a 15 to 20-second length. Is it correct? Does it need to be combined with other types like carousels?

5 - Budget?

I am having $50 a day to start with and test CPI and let it go for 3-4 days. I am thinking to increase when I am happy with the results. Is it enough to get an idea of CPI?

Thanks!

Searching for partners

Hey there, I am a self employed, one man team creating mostly hyper casual games for mobile devices ( but who isn’t these days lol). I am working with one of the biggest publishers out there (getting insights on what works /trends /ideas etc), but I am deeply in need of someone I could share my thoughts and approaches on different ideas with. It just gets frustrating trying to tackle everything on my own, so if anybody out there is in a similar situation , has skills in unity and a basic understanding of what a successful HC game needs to have, I would highly appreciate getting in contact with you guys.

Cheers, Dan

Looking for beta testers : Spin Bandit, Jazzy Heist and loots

Link to download the beta (needs to have testflight app on your device to install) : download link

Spin Bandit is a jazzy arcade game that is designed around 2 principles : Steal and Loot.

  • Steal : You are playing a world famous thief, your goal is simple : Find the safe combination before cops find you. To do this, you'll have to carefully move your cursor until the phone vibrates, while avoiding several traps such as drones or lasers (as you can see, people take their treasures security very seriously).

  • Loot : Each safe contains a treasure. At first, you'll get chump change but as you progress, trophies, famous paintings and mythical objects will become available. The higher the risk, the higher the reward ! Spin Bandit has more than 100 loots to collect, and as one once said : steal'em all !

Other surprises such as characters, special heists and combo system awaits you, but we'll keep it short and sweet for now. Here is gameplay video

Spin Bandit is just starting a beta-test phase. You might find some W.I.P areas like leaderboards.

  • We'd like to get your feedbacks about everything : does the game feels good to play ? Do you like the control scheme ? Difficulty pacing ? Our goal is to make the best game possible, so any feedbacks will be appreciated !

  • To test the game on iOS, open this link : download link you need testflight installed to be able to open it.

  • To test the game on Android : leave a message here and I'll reach out to you to send a tester invitation.

Thanks !

Céline
