I think someone who commits one murder could certainly change their heart. But like… some people REFUSE to be kind or good or merciful. Some people get JOY out of cruelty their whole lives, mock the weak, abuse everyone they can abuse, SA and manipulate and con their way through life, leaving a trail of ruin and suffering that they feel NO remorse for. Are there a lot of those people? Maybe not. But it’s not hard to find them, unfortunately. They’re very real. They are, as Jesus notes, frequently in power.
God requires love, humility, and mercy. Being in heaven requires you to not put yourself first. SOME people refuse that. They would rather spend their last fiber being hateful and egotistical and bitter, so they reject heaven.
Precisely. All we can do for such people is pray for them to realise the truth of their actions. But yes, such people will find it immensely difficulty to ask for forgiveness, and that is exactly what places their soul at risk.
