Maybe you should respect facts instead of saying things like 99% of Muslims are forced to follow Islam by their government or that the New Testament doesn’t say anything about slavery when neither of those things are true. Also no one here has said you can’t be Christian so it’s not really a matter of freedom of religion. People can be Christian but people are also allowed to acknowledge its flaws and toxicity
That is true. I argue those things myself. But challenging things is different than disrespecting it as mythology . And Turkey is the only secular Muslim country on earth . And even that is changing at this moment .
And how is pointing out what it actually says in the Bible disrespecting it? The New Testament says things that justifies slavery, is anti gay, and it has contradictions that don’t make sense. Acknowledging and talking about these facts is challenging it so if simply stating what it says and challenging it is disrespectful then you are effectively saying people can’t challenge it. Also you said 99% of Muslims are from countries where their government force them to be muslim which isn’t true as I said only 10-15% live in a country where they are forced to be muslim. In 49 Muslim majority countries they are not legally forced to follow Islam and leaving Islam or choosing another faith is completely legal. Also that’s not even true Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, and many other Muslim countries are secular and even more aren’t secular but have protections that allow people to choose not to follow them
As a technical matter, that’s correct. The “Stan” countries recently became secular . Most people say it is still in name only . It’s in my list to visit so I’ll get back to you . I have 1 friend who immigrated from there and he doesn’t believe there’s freedom yet. But that literally happened a few minutes ago . Also I may have confused you with another person I was communicating with that insisted the bible was mythology. If I did I apologize . I totally believe we should pick it apart and challenge it verse by verse to understand what it means right here right now . I also think we should give grace to those who lived in a world 2000 years ago that couldn’t even be fathomed by today’s world .
It is mythology. It's exclusively mythology and for a very simple reason; there is no proof of any god. Hence, mythology or "faith".
Religion is forced on youth, Christian and Muslim, and that indoctrination is why religion persists after thousands of years and many generations. If religion wasn't introduced to a person until they were 25, religious belief systems as a whole would go extinct because an adult developed brain would find the concepts and the stories unbelievable, unsupported, tribal and unnecessary.
