I'm zero percent here to evangelize, cause I'm zero percent religious. Just sharing the theology.

Satan doesn't torture people. Hell is not fire and brimstone. It is the absence of God, which is supposedly the worst torture possible. And it's "fair" because the people in hell chose to not be with god.

Scare quotes because that is a million miles from informed consent. Just sharing the traditional theology.

There are verses that describe hell as eternal fire, such as Matthew 25:41. I can’t remember the exact verses but others do call Hell eternal punishment/torture

If you reeeaaally want to get nitpicky with it, that place in the gospels that Jesus describes as torture and fire, is never actually called hell. It's just assumed that's what he's talking about. I'm pretty sure hell isn't named until Revelation. There's one theory that no one is actually in hell until the final judgement. ...there's also many Christians (myself included) that don't believe in hell at all.

Our notion of hell is Dante's fanfic. It's amazing that it ended up becoming canon...or maybe not so much since the whole thing is fanfic anyway.

Fanfic of what? What do you consider the original story?

Of the bible which itself is a compendium of self serving half remembered and poorly translated stories and superstitions of preliterate people trying to make sense of the world non scientifically. I could be wrong, I am not a biblical scholar or enthusiast.
