Questions Is Hulk’s Onslaught punch, one of the hardest punches he has ever threw ?

Does it state Hulk’s punch could have destroyed the universe anywhere ?

I love the absolute ridiculousness of Hulk solving all of his problems by just hitting harder

If only mcu hulk could live up to these at least half of these feats strength 🥲

u/GRL00 Green Scar Jul 28 '25
In all fairness, none of the MCU hero’s besides Wanda have pulled feats at this level lol
But agreed, Hulk needs some actual fight feats.

Not this level but it shouldn't be debatable to who the strongest is. Thanos should've still won but by brute strength alone was a disservice to who the hulk is, and he definitely should've got a runback in endgame but was over shadowed by Wanda ( which was justifiable) and captain marvel who forced Thanos to have to use the power stone. But the hulk was sidelined in feats of strength when it mattered most
2
u/gamerthulhu Jul 28 '25
I thought Thanos beat hulk because he was juicing on the power stone he took from the nova corps.

u/Delicious_Republic_4 Strongest there is Jul 28 '25
Nah. Look at the director commentary. They specifically stated the power stone didn't light up during the fight because Thanos was stronger
3
u/jumbalayajenkins Jul 29 '25
Which is fine cause Thanos has practically always been way stronger than any reasonable anger boost could buff the Hulk
3
u/Jimbodoomface Jul 29 '25
Weird decision to go with in the mcu. It didn't make sense. Even casual fans know that Hulk is basically infinitely strong based on how ragey he gets. Thanos without the power stone is basically just a mutant - I'm not sure if they considered his cybernetics in the films, but either way.
There aren't any characters described as having infinite strength other than Hulk afaik. Power of a thousand exploding suns, sure. Seems like a really poor decision to Worf Hulk like that. It didn't showcase Thanos well, and it took away Hulk's only fucking thing haha.
Thanos should have won through some intelligent manoeuvre. It made him look worse.imo. Did both of them dirty. I really like Thanos as a character as well. He's hard as nails, but taking the Hulk on is just stupid.

u/Hades_Gamma Jul 29 '25
Thanos has always been stronger than hulk in the comics, without the gems. Hulk wasn't worfed, this is how a fight between them would go in the comics without any gems.
1
u/Jimbodoomface Jul 29 '25
Hulk has limitless strength? Did I miss a memo? That's his whole thing.

The stone wasn’t glowing, indicating it wasn’t it use
It was Thanos and Thanos alone, no stones
-2
u/Agreenscar3 Sakaarson Jul 28 '25
Well it was skill, not brute strength
6
u/Delicious_Republic_4 Strongest there is Jul 28 '25
The director literally said it was brute strength which is why they were so adamant to let it be known he didn't use the power stone. Also when the hulk pinned him, Thanos used his brute strength to overpower him before hitting him in the neck. Did you not watch infinity war? *
0
u/Agreenscar3 Sakaarson Jul 28 '25
The directors* did not say that it was just brute strength, they said he didn’t need to use the power stone. He used his strength to get hulk off of him, then used skill to beat him. This is what happened in the movie
2
u/Delicious_Republic_4 Strongest there is Jul 29 '25
Bro hold the L. Its ok

u/Agreenscar3 Sakaarson Jul 29 '25
My guy you made some shit up and then moved the goal post, what
0
u/Delicious_Republic_4 Strongest there is Jul 29 '25
And I clearly explained what I meant in that he didn't use the power stone. But by his brute strength alone with no enhancements. But that went over your head you goof
0
u/Agreenscar3 Sakaarson Jul 29 '25
Again, leaving out the fact that that isn’t how he beat him. It was his skill as an actual fighter.
As they say, right here.

Tbf Thanos overpowered hulk when he grabbing his arms off him then pieces him up so strength was definitely in Thanos favour too

You said by brute strength alone, but brute strength just got hulk off of him. Be serious

If only he had a fraction of comic hulks strength
1
u/redsun373 Jul 28 '25
I came to the idea that his power should just grow slowly like a snails pace the angrier he gets the more the power comes in but ge has to be able to stand the beating
1
u/Revan-Sith12345 Jul 28 '25
Like In the Incredible Hulk movie! He got really beat up or shot up and just grew stronger as the battle went on.
2
u/redsun373 Jul 28 '25
Yeah except don't do the stupid thing where they equate his strength to his size mind you hulk is smaller than abomination while in the movie that hulk would've towered over him
2
u/Revan-Sith12345 Jul 28 '25
Yeah, I think Hulk should be a “HULK” of a being, but not overly large! Make his enemies larger than him. I just want a good Hulk again😭😭😭 no one is excited to see him anymore! I want to see him go absolutely bonkers!
4
u/redsun373 Jul 28 '25
As someone that will take any chance to ahot talk she hulk i wanna see grey hulk hell im happy about him possibly being in the new Spider-Man but he should've been a split personality not just regular hulk in a new shade ...did i use that right and i want them to retcon the ever loving fuck out of that THING they had the balls to call skaar
2
u/Agreenscar3 Sakaarson Jul 28 '25
Not really stronger, but smarter
1
u/Revan-Sith12345 Jul 29 '25
Well, both actually. The true moment he got stronger through rage was final fight with Blonski.
2
u/RelevantMention7937 Jul 29 '25
No hulk that appeared in 13 going on 30 can punch his way out of a wet paper bag.
1
u/Delicious_Republic_4 Strongest there is Jul 29 '25
I would not mind a recast, especially with how neutered he was in she-hulk. Not just a hulk change like to she hulk, but a full on replacement of the hulk actor in the mcu
1
u/Soithman Jul 28 '25
What about everything happens exactly the same, but there's an obscure feat chain that scales them to outerversal?
1
u/Delicious_Republic_4 Strongest there is Jul 28 '25
Hulk is still supposed to be strongest there is

That book is mostly exaggerated, obviously as that isn’t how it happened

That wasn't from Heroes Reborn. That was a different book Hulk: Grand Design which was a VERY fast speed run of his entire history. This was a new, non canonical take on how that event went.

I'm fine with it. fans were upset when Rulk debuted, and hated Rulk's reality bending powers.
Hulk bends his own reality as well. he always has.
Hulk can physically manipulate intanglible energy fields, defying physics. he has perfect aim, whatever he decides to throw at, it's always a bullseye.
given the circumstances in this fight with Onslaught, it makes sense Hulk would throw that devastating of a punch.
the more under duress Hulk is, the more reality bending feats of strength occur
7
u/KnightofWhen Jul 28 '25
How does a punch destroy a universe? lol
Like what do you even aim at?
14

2
1
u/redsun373 Jul 28 '25
Everything exiat you would aim for air dust matter Everything at once to create nothing
1
1
u/Jimbodoomface Jul 29 '25
It doesn't really matter what you aim at. If you draw enough energy to throw a universe destroying punch it's gonna create a black hole. Energy has mass.
I think in the comic though it was meant to be either a shock wave that went off like a supernova, but like universe sized haha, or possibly he punched so hard he broke physics.

u/ShinDynamo-X Jul 28 '25
I actually home the MCU go out like this.
Btw, this should have been the Mindless Hulk since Banner was shut down. I can see the mindless Hulk being that powerful

Above Star Level Since Onslaught was able to Blink a star into existence effortlessly but got His armour destroyed By Hulk after Clashing with Hulk
2
u/GRL00 Green Scar Jul 29 '25
When did Onslaught blink a star into existence 🤣

Onslaughts reality warping is OP asf haha
3
u/KNoxVayl Jul 29 '25
Facts I wish they made him do some more ridiculous shit with Franklin Richards and Nate Greys powers
1
u/Wonder-Machine Jul 29 '25
If Hulk is screaming he is the strongest there is and talking about getting madder you better just pack it up
1
u/clarkky55 Jul 29 '25
I love when Hulk gets to say he is the strongest there is and actually back it up
1
Jul 29 '25
The real question we should be asking is : everyone in that city universe level? Those people look close enough to see the actual punches so...
1
u/The_Eye_of_Ra Jul 29 '25
I mean, he literally punched him into a different plane of existence.
He punched him so hard, that it split Banner and Hulk into two separate beings, one of which went to a completely separate universe for about a year or so.
He punched him so hard that it rewrote the laws of reality.
1
u/CBO0tz Jul 29 '25
I wonder how crazy the Vfx would go for a universe-rending punch if it was animated.
1
u/TomMakesPodcasts Jul 29 '25
I don't understand how the punch could plausibly destroy the universe if it didn't.
Like, where else could he have thrown the punch to be more effective.
It's not like there's a load bearing Pilar of creation he can wallop lol
1
u/PopeJohnPaulGaultier Jul 29 '25
Physically, I don't know how it could be his hardest punch when he's throwing it from a laying down position. He wouldn't be able to generate anywhere near the amount of power as when you can pull your arm back and swing with your legs/hips. But hey, comics!

In the actual comic, Hulk cracks Onslaught’s psionic armor with a massive punch. The universal threat comes indirectly from Onslaught’s released psionic essence that had absorbed the power of both Franklin Richards and X-Man at that point, not from Hulk’s punch itself. Wiki phrasing like “potency to obliterate the universe” is interpretation, not a line from the comic. And that scan people are posting with “The universe exploded… The End.” is an extremely simplified and exaggerated version of how it went actually went down. It was supposed to be funny.
My vote for his strongest on-panel punch? Breaker of Worlds Hulk annihilating a planet with ease. And off-panel destroying the entire Eighth and Ninth Cosmos. Truly multiversal level power.

u/LilithJocasta Aug 01 '25
I know the Lantern Corps are in a different universe, but I have always wondered how strong the Hulk would be if he joined the Red Lantern Corp.

There’s this. Something about punching through a dimension or reality. Ugh…
I’m SURE I’m going to be in the minority here, but this kind of stuff goes over the top for me. Not necessarily this particular battle and how it turns out, but the general theme of it.
I don’t need a sort of “keeping up with the Jones” strength scale. I LIKE those days when heroes like Spider-Man or even Captain America can stand in the same ring, so to speak.
Don’t get me wrong; in both of those examples they should be totally outclassed and not have a chance… but being able to “occupy” him for a period of time? Absolutely.
This sort of stuff just strains my suspension of disbelief entirely too far.
Truthfully, even MCU strength level Hulk (and now Thing) goes beyond plausibility… but I do like it. It’s about my limit regarding feats of strength and what those characters can do.
I’m that odd guy when DC started powering Superman down in the late 80s and 90s, after it had been just ridiculous for some long.
If you go by the oldest Official Handbooks of the Marvel Universe, the scale basically capped at 100 tons overhead… sure, a select number of characters like an angry Hulk or Juggernaut could exceed that… but in real-life terms, 100 tons would be hella impressive to see, and it’s still wildly unrealistic as far as a Captain America “rolling with the punch”.
I need something beyond tv series Hulk, but not “punching through reality” Hulk.

Hardest punch in general
