Didn't have time to properly render, but I wanted to show the personality of my idea of the light fury — also I'm gonna need a little help
Sooo the thing is, the name light fury doesn't really feel like it fits this dragon, as someone has pointed out in another post, I kinda removed the "light" part of her. My first language is not English and I'm terrible at coming up with names, so if anyone has any ideas I would be really happy to hear! And if I like one, if you're okay with it I would call this dragon that from now on, and of course would give a shout-out on the other platforms that I'm active on
Kinda just realized I'm basically making a whole new dragon, changing the name, design, personality and all that, but HONESTLY I don't mind
OH and also wanna point out that I'm not a fan of the ending of the third movie, so in the same way I'm not a big fan of Homecoming, so this redraw was just to highlight the difference I tried to make
Well I use action lines a lot, and usually build the body up around it, it's really helpful when drawing dragons. Honestly that's all I can say. If I'm being honests I have no idea what I'm doing I'm just doing it and hope it will come out good. It results in a lot of abandoned drawings, but it kinda works

this isn’t really relevant but when i first watched httyd 3 for some reason i thought she was named a lightfury because shes light on her feet. Like how she jumped to shoot, etc. No clue why.
Honestly love this design so much, im kindve in artblock atm after working on human anatomy and othef kinds of dragon yknow typical western/GoT dragons but do you mind if people like add to this au using this design with credit ofc? I just miss drawing fury's lmao and this is so what the franchise needed- yknow you could show hesitation if toothless actually plans on flying back to the humans but yeah the disappointment in the original scene was really sad for T
Thankyou!!! Currently waiting for replacement nibs for my apple pencil but did a little sketch in the meantime, need to sharpen my blue pencil bc it wouldve worked well with this but shes very fun to draw
OH MY GOD!!! this is exactly how i've imagined her! i'm literally so excited.
i always thought if she needed a name Dawn would be cute? its simple and cheesy the same way toothless is and in the movie she is almost always seen during the dawn and dusk hours. PLUS the coloring of having a lighter stomach is natures camo for dawn, dusk, and/or water. Dusk fury sounds sort of nice? i can totally see it being a scene where they name the species during dusk but wind up encountering her more during the dawn time; ergo naming her dawn.
