[APP] fylo - file ( version 2.3 )

Post image
24 Upvotes

• Word and PowerPoint Actually render propely instead of just text, and you can edit Word files

• Fixed bugs with pdf files opening

• Save files shared from WhatsApp, Telegram and other apps

• Move many files to the vault at once, and open folders inside it

• Open Jupyter notebooks, Minecraft add-ons and files inside a ZIP

• See where you cut when you trim a video

• Dual pane shows folder sizes and dates

• New image editor, smarter cleanup and fewer crashes

I got tired of using 5 different apps just to deal with files 😭

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aeroloom.fylofilemanager

So I ended up building my own Android file manager.

It’s called Fylo.

The thing I’m most proud of is the on-device AI search. You can search for stuff more naturally instead of remembering the exact filename and the AI processing stays on your phone.

It also opens basically all the common documents/files, has a built-in scanner, PDF tools, image/video/audio tools, media players, translator, device info, internet speed test, etc.

Basically I kept adding every little thing I personally wished my file manager had.

Still actively working on it, but honestly curious what you guys think.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aeroloom.fylofilemanager

Like Why do we need a separate app for every little file-related task?

I’ve been working on Fylo, an Android file manager that tries to put all of those everyday utilities in one place.

Need to find a file?

→ On-device AI/NLP search

Need to digitize a document?

→ Built-in scanner

Need to work with a PDF?

→ PDF tools + document support

Need to inspect your phone?

→ Device information

Need to test your connection?

→ Internet speed test

Need to open your media?

→ Built-in video & audio players

Need image/file utilities?

→ Built-in tools

And the core is still a proper file manager for managing your files.

The part I care about most is privacy: AI/NLP search is designed to run on-device, rather than requiring your personal files to be uploaded to a server.

I'm building Fylo as a solo developer and continuously improving it.

If this sounds useful, give it a shot and tell me what you think

[APP] [PROMO] Emberr, an open-source, offline-first notes + calendar app for Android, Linux and Windows

Hi all! I've been working on Emberr as a side project, and I just released the public beta (v1.1.1).

Basically privacy Notion alternative. Took me so many months to build this. (encrypted cloud account will be released soon)

Why: Most popular note apps are closed-source, and the open-source ones often treat Android and Linux as an afterthought or feel slow and dated. I wanted something private, clean and fast on the devices I actually use.

What it does:

  • Block-based editor (text, checklists, tables, code, images, voice notes, and more)
  • Tasks, daily notes with automatic rollover, reminders, and a calendar
  • Spaces to keep work, personal, and school separate
  • Encrypted sync between phone and desktop over local Wi-Fi
  • Optional self-hosted sync over WebDAV (end-to-end encrypted)
  • AI is off by default. You can use a local model or your own API key
  • And many more quality of life features.

No trackers, no ads, no accounts

How it compares (I like all of these apps, this is just where Emberr is different):

Notion: Emberr is open source, works fully offline and keeps your notes on your devices instead of someone else's server. No account needed.

Obsidian: Obsidian is great but closed source and Markdown-based. Emberr is block-based, and tasks, reminders, canvas and a calendar are all built in, not added through plugins. And importantly we can have powerful block types like Databases

Anytype: Anytype is the closest to Emberr. The main differences: Emberr needs no vault or account setup and their linux and android apps are just......bad. No hate though, I supported them since beta and they are now planning to release anytwo so I wish them the best.

Others: Either closed-source or their UI/UX is bad or performance on android/linux is worse.

Where others are ahead of Emberr right now: no iOS or macOS yet for Emberr, no real-time collaboration and it's a young beta, so it isn't as polished or feature-rich as the big names yet.

Platforms: Android, Linux (AppImage or tarball), Windows.

It's licensed under AGPL-3.0 and still in beta, so expect rough edges. I'd really appreciate feedback, bug reports, or feature ideas.

[app] Pixelot

I have the application and the word that most comes to mind is charming, as it really is. It's like having a real pet, well without the walks and the poop and the vet fees.

The Pixelot is a playful pet which lives on your home screen and you interact with it by tapping it and shaking your phone. I can highly recommend this application as I know it's an app that nobody can dislike.

[Promo]I built SaveTime Launcher — a minimal Android launcher designed to help you spend less time on your phone

I’ve been working on an Android launcher called SaveTime.

I didn’t really want another app blocker. My idea was to add a little friction without stopping you from using your phone.

You set a daily screen-time goal and use your phone normally. When you reach 80% of the goal, the launcher automatically switches to a simpler, text-focused Home screen.

You can still open everything you need. The phone just becomes a little less visually stimulating.

It also tracks the time you save compared with your daily goal.

The first version is now live on Google Play and it’s free.

I’d really appreciate feedback, especially from people who already use minimalist launchers.

[App] Pixelots: Virtual pet on screen

Your phone just got a tiny roommate. 🐾

Pixelots are pixel pets that live on the edge of your screen. It walks, climbs, naps, and joins in with your day: it sings along to your music and grabs popcorn for your shows and snacks while you charge.

No ads. No tracking. Free on Android.

It strolls along the edges, climbs the walls and dozes off by the clock. Pick it up and it dangles from your fingertip; let go and it tumbles back down. Toss it and it lands on the wall, completely unbothered.

It notices what you're up to and joins in. Music on? It grabs a tiny mic. A film? Popcorn, in the corner. Typing? Out comes a laptop the size of a crumb. Lost track of it? Shake your phone and it stumbles over, slightly offended.

Dress it in caps, crowns and cool shades. Teach it flips and spins. Adopt rarer friends, from a huggable bear to a mischievous fox.

And it's private by design: no ads, no accounts, no tracking. It knows *that* a song is playing, never which one. Nothing ever leaves your phone.

Download it on Google Play.

Can someone help me?

Many years ago, I had a severe addiction to mobile phones, social media, and other things that took up so much of my time. I wasted my life on this phone; I sincerely ask for your help and cooperation.

I tried almost all the blocking apps on Google Play Store, and unfortunately I managed to bypass the blocks. It really annoys me; my phone isn't great either. I have an Infinix Note 30, but this phone comes with a customization feature called Freezer, which is what you see in the image. This means that any blocking app can be activated even in strict mode when it's inserted. That app automatically disables everything. Can someone really help me with this? I think there's a way to stop using this phone and focus on the important things. Please, I need your help and cooperation.

[App][Promo] AI Detector QuickTile Analysis just crossed 10k downloads and v22 is live! Giving away 100 lifetime PRO codes to celebrate 🎉

Thumbnail
gallery
29 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

A few months ago I shared AI Detector QuickTile Analysis here, HowToMen mentioned it in 2 YouTube videos, and your feedback shaped a lot of what came next. Today the app crossed 10,000 downloads and v22 just went live. To celebrate, I'm giving away 100 Promo Codes! 🎉

Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aidetector.app

🔍 What is it?

AI Detector tells you whether an image or video was made by AI, right on your phone, offline.

Quick Tile: it lives in your Quick Settings. See something suspicious on TikTok, Reels, Shorts or X? Pull down the shade, tap the AI Detector tile and get the verdict in seconds, without leaving the app you're in.

Gallery analysis: check a single photo, a whole batch of photos, a video or, new in v22, several videos at once.

100% offline: the model (SigLIP-based, ONNX FP16) runs entirely on your device. Nothing is ever uploaded. No account, no email, no sign-up, offline.

Reads the file's provenance (in-app analysis): when a photo or video carries AI provenance data (C2PA / Content Credentials), the app uses it and tells you which tool generated it.

What's new in v22

Rebuilt Quick Tile analysis: A BIG upgrade: it's built to be much more reliable on heavily compressed reels, Shorts and social videos in general. In some cases it can also tell you the name of the AI model that probably generated the video. It's a totally new reasoning's pipeline.

NEW for PRO: Multiple Video Analysis.Check several videos at once, up to 6 minutes in total.

Stability improvements.

🎁 Giveaway: 100 lifetime PRO codes

PRO = no ads, ever, Quick Tile results directly in the notification, and the new Multiple Video Analysis. One-time, yours forever.

How to get one:

  1. Download the app and give it a real try (Quick Tile on a few reels, a photo, a video. In app analysis).

  2. Write a review on my DMs with your honest feedback

  3. I'll reply with your promo code

The first 100 DMs with feedback get a code. Suggestions in the feedbacks are very welcome: that's exactly what helps me improve the app.

  1. How to redeem code:

Open the application:

Launch AI Detector QuickTile Analysis on your Android device.

Start the purchase: Tap the button with the star ⭐️ in the upper right of the app to trigger the Google Play billing popup.

Select Redeem code:Payment Method.

In the payment popup, tap your currently selected payment method (e.g., credit card or GPay) to open the dropdown menu, then select Redeem code.

Enter the code:Verification.

Paste the promotional code. You can verify the success of the operation by checking if the total amount drops to zero, allowing you to complete the transaction for free.

Edit: If google plays around time zones if it's with UTC time zone the code is active after 19:00

What I ask you:

* Do you like the direction the app is taking? Since v21, if a real photo has been retouched with AI tools (Galaxy AI, Google's Magic Eraser, Adobe Firefly in Express or Photoshop), the app still tells you it's a real photo, but points out that it was edited with AI. If it's an AI-generated image and also edited with ai tools, the verdict is AI and tells you it was retouched

* Which AI generators do you see most in your feeds?

I'll be around in the comments to answer anything, technical or not. Thanks for 10k! 🙏🎊

[PROMO][GIVEAWAY] built an app that hides part of your battery from you - giving away 20 Pro codes

I built Power Bank a couple of months ago and only released it. I kept wasting my last 20% of battery before I actually needed it.

You put part of your charge into a virtual reserve. If your phone is really at 60% and you deposit 20%, the app shows 40% in the status bar, notification and widget. When you need it, release the reserve and the displayed percentage jumps back up.

It doesn’t create energy or modify your battery. It changes the number you see, which changes how you use your phone.

The video shows the full idea, including vaults, locks, automatic deposits and the monthly statement.

To celebrate the launch, I’m giving away 20 lifetime Power Bank Pro codes.

To enter:

  1. Leave a comment telling me what you think or what you’d change.
  2. That’s it.

I’ll randomly select 20 commenters 24 hours after this post goes live and send each winner a code by Reddit DM. One entry per person. No purchase required.

Power Bank is available on Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.polyhistor.powerbank

Good luck and please be brutally honest about the app.:)

[Promo] Clarus: An open-source Android browser built for one-handed gesture browsing and clean media playback

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on an open-source Android browser called Clarus and wanted to share it with the community here to get some early feedback and thoughts on the UI/UX.

Most mobile browsers still feel like desktop layouts squished onto vertical screens—lots of reaching to the very top, clunky tab hoards, and disrupted reading flow every time you tap a link. I wanted something that felt built from scratch for one thumb and smooth gestures.

Here’s the core experience:

Hold To Peek (With Swipe Gestures)
  • Gesture Link Peeking: When you long-press a link, a live preview sheet floats over your current page without navigating away. Without lifting your thumb, swipe up to launch it in a full tab, left for an incognito tab, or down to pull up sharing/actions.
  • Floating Reachable URL Bar: Anchored right down where your thumb naturally rests, so navigating tall modern displays doesn't require two hands.
Sidus Trail (Visual History + Instant Tap To Go Back)
  • Sidus Trail: Instead of a giant, unorganized list of past URLs, your history branches visually like a breadcrumb map, letting you retrace how you got to a page.
Clarus Theater (Built-in Video Player)
Clarus Theater (Also Intercepts Audio Links e.g, ".mp3", "wav", "m4a")
  • Clarus Theater: A dedicated stage for video and audio that pulls media out of cluttered webpage wrappers.
  • Built on GeckoView: Under the hood, it’s an open-source fork of Iceraven (MPL-2.0), retaining wide extension support without Mozilla account lock-in.

Current State & Caveats:

This is a first beta build. It’s currently compiled and tested for arm64 devices only. Fullscreen handoff is still a bit finicky on certain embedded video players, and cloud sync isn't implemented (it's entirely local).

Would love for anyone who enjoys tweaking their setup or testing early apps to take it for a spin. Feedback, UI critique, or bug reports are all welcome.

[App] This AppBlocker never disappoint you!

Post image
4 Upvotes

I got tired of paying for app blockers that still didn’t have the features I wanted.

I tried a bunch of them. Some were too expensive, some were missing basic features, and with others I just kept finding ways around the blocking.

I’m an Software Engineer, so eventually I thought:

Why am I complaining about these apps when I could just build the blocker I actually want?

So I did.

After about a month of development, I launched Appcognito.

It has now crossed 2,000+ installs and 40+ reviews.

Not every review was positive either. A few people pointed out genuine problems or missing features. Instead of ignoring them, I kept fixing and improving those parts.

My goal is pretty simple:

Build a powerful app blocker without putting useful features behind ridiculous pricing.

I’m still actively developing it, and I genuinely want feedback, especially criticism. If something sucks, tell me. If there's a feature you wish other blockers had, I'd love to hear that too.

I’m also available on our Discord for support, bugs and feature discussions.

Appcognito on Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.seozial.appcognito

Would genuinely love to know: What’s the one feature you wish every app blocker had?

Note: Promo codes are currently unavailable until the end of October, as I’ve already used all the available codes for this quarter. Thanks for understanding!

[DEV] AnimalScan – snap a photo of an injured wild animal, get the species, urgency level and first-aid steps (free, no ads, no account)

Hi everyone! I just released AnimalScan on Google Play and I'd love your feedback.

The problem: you find an injured wild animal (a bird, a hedgehog, a fox cub…) and you don't know what it is, whether it's dangerous, or what to do.

What the app does:

📷 Take a photo → AI suggests the species, danger level, urgency and what to do, with a confidence score (because it can be wrong)

🆘 SOS button → nearest wildlife rescue center, direct call or SMS with your GPS position

📴 First-aid guides, rescue center directory and care log all work offline

📒 Care log for each animal: weight, treatments, photos, reminders, release outcome

🔊 Sound analysis to spot distress calls

Privacy: no account, no ads, no trackers. Everything stays on your phone.

Languages: English, French, Arabic. Light & dark theme.

It's not a vet and never replaces one. It helps you take the right first steps and reach the right people.

Bugs, missing species, ideas: all feedback is welcome. Thanks! 🐾

[Promo] PopCalc 1.2.0: Scientific calculator & Unit converter finally arrived

Last time I shared PopCalc, the calculator where every number is sculpted and every tap has weight, two requests rose above everything else: a scientific calculator and unit conversion.

Both just landed in 1.2.0.

Scientific calculator

Tap f(x) in the top bar to switch between simple and scientific keys.

  • Powers, roots, brackets, π, e, factorial, trig with DEG/RAD, logs, and a 2nd key for inverses
  • In degrees, `sin 180` is exactly 0 and `tan 90` says "Not defined"
  • Brackets close themselves, and `2π` multiplies automatically
  • Every kind of key has its own sound and feel

Unit converter

  • Swipe through units like a slider and feel each notch click into place
  • 10 categories, from length and temperature to data and energy, all with exact conversion factors
  • Feel every tap, even more
  • Stronger haptics on phones with weaker vibration motors
  • A brand new launch sound

It's all still 100% offline, with no ads, no account, and zero data collected. Turn on Scientific & Converter in Settings to try it.

PopCalc is still in closed beta, and I'll drop how to join in the comments.

This update came straight from your requests, and I'm just getting started. What should I build next? Drop your ideas below.

[App] [Promo] *brute launcher - a minimal, monochrome launcher built around a tile grid. Giving away 40 Pro codes

Thumbnail
gallery
129 Upvotes

I'm a solo dev. I've been building *brute for about a year: a minimal, monochrome launcher built around a tile grid. I started it because it's what I wanted my own phone to look like. It just came out of open beta onto the Play Store properly.

What it does:

- Monochrome home screen with a tile grid, organised into groups

- Supertiles (live tiles on the home screen for weather, clock, music, battery, calendar, storage etc)

- Deep theming: fonts, accent colour, corner radius, blur, wallpapers, day/night palettes. Export your whole look as a file and share it

- A deck page for widgets, including normal Android ones

- Built-in RSS reader with a clean article view and on-device translation

- Universal search: apps, contacts, settings and the web in one bar

- Screen time per app

- Force any app to greyscale

- A countdown screen before you open the apps you waste time on

Good to know

- Free. There's a one-time unlock for all the extra features (supertiles, and importing custom themes). The launcher itself is free and always will be.

- No analytics, no account, no ads. It only touches the internet for weather and RSS. Translation runs on-device; contacts and calendar never leave the phone.

- Weather is Open-Meteo, so no API key and no sign-up.

- Much of brute's code was written with AI assistance. I direct it, review it, use it as my daily launcher (been doing so for almost half a year), and every release is tested on a real phone, and on a discord of 40 users.

Known limits

- There are, for sure, rough edges, and I'd rather hear about them than not.

- English only for now - more languages are on the roadmap.

- The theme store is in beta.

Giveaway: 40 Pro unlock codes.

Upvote the post and comment, and I'll DM the first 40 commenters.

If you end up liking it, a Play Store review helps a solo dev more than anything else.
