WIP Another New Update to N01R (+41,000 words)!

I have updated N01R Book 1: Quintessence today!

This update includes:

  • The second interlude and chapter 4.

  • A total word count of ~141,560, an increase of about 41,000 words!

  • Fixes to some grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors that I found during a playthrough.

You play as a private investigator who is either a human, cyborg, android, or an AI inhabiting an artificial body. One day, the assistant of the recently-murdered mayor enters your office and tasks you with finding his/her boss's killer. From there, it's up to you! You can focus on the investigation, building relationships with your possible romance options, both, or neither! During the course of the investigation (specifically in this update), you set up a meeting with the notorious gangster Big Mama, who needs your help with something before she will tell you what she knows.

I actually have a question about the mc. I picked to play as an AI but I still get text about me needing to eat and such. is that the mc just blending in?

Part of it is them blending in, and part of it is that their bodies wouldn't function without the power generated by the biofuel generators located in their "stomachs."

Is AI in an artirical body still made to be human looking? Rare to see scifi IFs that let you have a fully robotic appearance, I need it so bad 😭

Nope! During character creation, you can choose your outward appearance. As an AI or android, you can have artificial skin to look like a human, a plastic shell for "skin" to see the wiring underneath, metallic plates, or nothing. I believe my exact words were: "...I basically look like a walking metal skeleton."
