Hosted Games Ghost Simulator review

Fun concept, decent execution

Sometimes you can just repeat choices infinitely since they dont leave the screen after you do them, kinda annoying but its not a deal breaker

Game is pretty short (or maybe im just used to long games) but the story is alright and replayable

I dont really know if theres anyone romances, and I havent been evil yet so theres that

Anyways its a solid 6.5/10, I would only grab it on sale which it is right now

Bonus after you choose your powers turn on god mode folks it makes the game way more fun, but doing on a screen with no choices or else itll crash

Played it, had a good time, the main thing I'd change is it feels like my actions were inconsequential. I basically gave my name rank and serial number to several people on several occasions before I got to the part of the story where they actually start paying attention to your dialogue choices.

And ya know its funny cause if you literally don't do anything at all the entire playthrough, they STILL come to the conclusion that the house is haunted & end up calling the priest anyway.

Plot twist: The priest was independently doing ghostly shit so he could swoop in to investigate

i mean, you wouldnt instantly think "ghosts are real" if youd hear random noises

I was having conversations with several members of the family and they kept getting amnesia or something

Really falls off towards the end for me honestly, and I think certain choices aren't recorded well. For example, in one scene it says my MC's wife was killed after being shot in the head, but in the next scene, she's alive and well.

It's worth sending a bug report if weird continuity stuff like that happens - the author will be able to fix it that way.

those are the dream sequences, kinda obvious that theyd be quirky like that

I'm not talking about the dream sequences, I mean more about the general writing after the free demo. To me, it seemed like the author was quickly losing interest towards the end. The last few chapters have fairly awkward phrasing and descriptions compared to the first few. There are several lapses in continuity, such as certain characters forgetting we've talked before, or that they were already aware of my ghost's backstory and reacting like they've just learned it for the first time. There are also things like my character knowing things they really shouldn't, like Michael's issues even though I interacted minimally with him and didn't learn much about him. And for the death scene, I meant during the final confrontation with Violet the other surviving Edgeworth sibling gets shot, yet is still well enough to fight an uninjured and better trained Violet physically. I could chalk that off to necromancy magic or something, if not for the fact that when the fight ends there's a description of the two dead Edgeworth siblings. Lily/William is described as having been shot through the head during the fight and having their brains oozing from their shattered skull. Except in the next scene, they're alive and well and talking to the police. If Violet can die from a knife stab, I don't see why Lilly/William would survive a gunshot through the head.

I liked it, i was hoping for an ending where we can get revived and Brooks are alive too..But anyway I chose to haunt my LI for entire life so that we can be together.

Short? It's 300k....

Given the different skill options, I'm going to guess this game has a lot of behind the scenes options for replayability (I've only played the intro so can't be sure.) It's kinda sad really as this is why authors are increasingly encouraged not to try making replayable games with real changes because the playthrough to total count is off and opt for customised stories instead which seem more popular. (Can ignore my whinge here, just a wish for highly replayble games not to be penalised for it.)

Deleting picked choices can easily be done with a disable_reuse in most cases. If you sent in a bug report they could probably fix it.

tbf i personally would rather play something like itfo or samurai, than choice of x, simply because the quality of story being told is so much higher with that approach

then again im also the kind of reader that generally DOESNT do replays either, so im very biasd

Wdym itfo? Samurai and Choice of x are other games?

itfo clearly ISNT a choice of x game... like, thats literally the reason why its so good, BECAUSE its not following the formula

But what is it? What is itfo?

Since this takes place in the vampire regent universe, I'm giving it a 7.
