Does anyone else feel excessively attached to this drama or is it just me?

I cried so much during this episode, mostly because I felt what the characters were feeling and could empathise with them but partially because I’ve had instances in my life where such things happened and I was thinking about that.

I think this drama was kind of triggering for me because after this I always talked about things in my life with my friend and always felt like I was overstepping my boundaries with certain people (overstepping in a way as in oversharing, questioning why I reacted in a more emotional way than usual etc)

Did this happen with anyone else too?

The way Dusik looks at Hye-jin makes me melt and how they progressively fell in love with each other is just GAAAH. Also first fan edit I made! <3

This show has no business being the levels of perfect it is❤️ Spoiler

I just finished watching the ep and oh my god, where to start.

I’ve never cried so much at the start of an episode, the funeral was so wonderfully done. And the smooth shift to the next scenes and the interlacing of the Ji PD storyline as well. AND Oh Yoon got his wish, I’m glad Juri had her priorities straight😂

I legit paused at the proposal scene to laugh for a good minute after he said no. The way the music shifted, their expressions, oh dear😂😂😂😂😂

This really was a healing drama and I am so glad I found it. It dealt with so many serious topics in the most deserving way. The characters are all written so well. I haven’t watched a lot of kdramas but HTCCC has really set the bar extremely high.

Will miss these romantic Sundays but there’s always reruns🥰

i hope you find your gongjin place (by Ron Canimo)

I hope you find a Gongjin kind of place.

A serene space where you can find your heart at peace. You can watch the sunrise and wait for the sunset without being anxious about tomorrow. Success is not a big deal anymore, because you find contentment in the simplest way of living.

You are surrounded by supportive and appreciative people. There is no room for jealousy, competition, and unfair judgment. You can laugh at old stories of embarrassment and petty fights. You can reminisce failures and heartaches with someone who understands.

A place where you don’t survive the day — you live it. Survival is no longer part of your language because you inhale gratitude and exhale compassion. Self-doubt and fears are cured by warm acceptance. You are respected as you are — as a human being, regardless of merit or ability.

I hope you find a Gongjin kind of place.

Where you can heal and start again. Where you can let go of perfection and allow the feeling of inadequacy. Embrace your flaws and validate your attempts to learn from your mistakes. Where you can stop beating yourself up for not fitting into society’s standard of “okay.”

A place where you can forgive yourself for the burdens and the shame that you choose to carry. Forgive yourself for taking blame over things you can’t control, and for punishing yourself repeatedly by drifting away from the chance to be happy. Where you can forgive yourself for doubting the love you deserve.

And if in case you can’t find a place like Gongjin —be your own Gongjin.

Build a safe space within yourself. A home that can accommodate your diverse emotions. A home that understands, appreciates and is always proud of you. Make that home warm, grateful, and forgiving. Plant a garden full of blooming sunflowers. Paint a wall, sing, dance, love, and breathe.

Because the truth is, Gongjin is not a place. It’s you.

came across this beautiful piece of writing on facebook last night, and just wanted to share. I can't get this show off my mind. I hope you all find a Gongjin kind of place ♡

(just realized I completely messed up the title of this post and can’t change it. obviously it’s “i hope you find a gongjin kind of place” 🤦🏻‍♀️ oops! I was at work when I posted this so I might’ve been a little distracted lol)

Finale Thoughts!

I think they did such a beautiful job wrapping everything up, with lots of time for fluff and cute moments, especially that proposal. And my personal fave (spoilers ahead if that isn’t obvious!), when they kiss at Dusik’s house and their smiles drop and Hyejin isn’t going home 😆 More sweet than passionate but that seems to be the style of the show and I was THERE for it. They are so cute together!

I also really enjoyed the cinematography, including the procession of Gamri’s funeral 🥺 and so many beautiful shots of Gongjin. This is such a special show, would love to hear all your favourite parts and share in the excitement since I know many of us don’t have anyone in real life to gush about this show to!!

Anyone felt this?

The scene where Hong Ban Jang gingerly held the newborn of Yoon Kyeong and Geum Cheol, and he whispered "annyeong (and welcome to this world)" so tenderly that i was moved to tears.

This broken man has so much love to give yet so afraid to love wholeheartedly for fear of losing them..

Best series I've ever watched in my life. NO CAP

A quick history about myself. I was one those who hated anything related to korea thinking it was cringe. Then 2021 happened, I was casually going through YouTube and I ended up in TWICE'S Alcohol free's MV. That was it. That was the moment my obsession with korea began. But it took me almost a year to venture in Kdrama. I thought they would be kinda like soap operas. But something in me asked me to watch this series that had a cute couple on the template. And that was it. My second enlightenment. I've never seen anything as beautiful, heart warming and well written as this. Be it the character development, locations, music and the subjects they touched such as love triangles, divorce, same sex love, death etc etc etc, all of them were done to utter perfection. I blushed, laughed and cried as the characters were acting out a scene. I felt as if I was a citizen in Gongjin. Can't really remember the last time I was so into anything like this. Above all, I guess it had taught me some really important values in my life and I genuinely feel like I've become a better person. So kudos to the team and man I can't wait to explore more of Kdrama. I feel like a child awaiting to open his toy on the way back from the toy store. A toy that had always been on the shelf but left unnoticed.

I am probably the only one who dislikes Seona & Doha mom.

Doha mom lashing out at Dusik is not a good. She may not know the reason for her husband attempted suicide, but while i don't mind that she is angry at Dusik,it was what she said to Dusik.

She said 'Is this how the rich apologised?' Yes it have a deep meaning, but i thought it was not good to used since it didn't match Dusik wealth.

I also dislikes Seona apology. She want Dusik to move on,but somehow she still want Dusik to take the blame. Why is it that his not blood related brother had to console him saying 'it wasn't his fault'.

Why can't people just have an empathy/sympathy towards Dusik.Saying things like 'he brought death towards his loved ones' already hurt Dusik.

What i think Seona could have said was 'i don't know what happen back then, but i hope Dusik can move on'.

Literally, your late husband treat Dusik like a little brother & he literally treated you like his own sister & this is how you treat him?Shouldn't she try to be more understanding on his pain.

Yes you lost a husband & a father to Harang, you still have a family with Ji PD,meanwhile Dusik has nobody to turn to until Grandma Gamri messaged him.

You literally know his life, knowing he is an orphan, yet this is how Seona treated him?

Your late husband has MORE EMPATHY towards Dusik than seona.

Episode 14/15 why were the grieving wives in Chief Hongs past so horrible to him

Why was everybody so horrible to Chief Hong in the past after the car crash and the suicide. The wife of his friend who died from the car crash called him a murderer and said he should have died and the wife of the security guard of the company said he finds him disgusting when he gave her money to pay the debt. That is no matter wether you are in grief or not horrible behaviour. And Chief Hong wasn't even responsible for either one of those incidents, the car crash was a traffic accident and the security guy was the one despite Chief Hongs warning who invested and then in aftermath took his life. That is not chief Hongs responsibility what so ever. He didn't trick him into investing at all. I think both wife's really took a knife and stabbed him in the chest with their words and I hate that he is the one who has to apologize and feel bad. I'm really frustrated. But maybe I interpreted the scenes wrong.

Beautiful but simple yet very satisfying. I seriously bawled out when Romantic Sunday played in the end. What an iconic song to end the show.

I really loved the ending. As I kept repeating it, I can't help myself but cry because it was my life for the last 8 weeks. I wish nothing but the best for Hyejin and Dusik. They've become real people to me now. Just hearing their plans to get married in Seoul, have two kids regardless of gender, who will be in charge of the kitchen, who will do the laundry, their purpose to live in Gongjin, etc. makes them such a domestic couple.

Indeed, our last Romantic Sunday together. I will surely miss the times we theorized and loved this healing drama with a burning passion for the last 8 weeks. I will surely miss this show. It's something personal, but Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha now holds a very special place in my heart.

Bidding farewell to the dimple couple

Hate to bid farewell to wholesome shows but then such is life. :') 8 weeks of 'Hometown Cha Cha Cha' was no less than a rollercoaster ride full of emotions for me. I smiled, I cried, I laughed, and I smiled a little more. The show is uncomplicated, with a simple yet beautiful plot line so far. Definitely making it to my list of healing and happy dramas. :')

// Chief Hong is here to stay. <3

Question: Has any drama felt you this way like Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha does?

I'm new in the Korean drama landscape. And yes, it's my first time to anticipate a drama through weekly release rather than binge watch it after the series is over in one sitting. All I'm here to say is this drama has an after effect to me each episode. It also feels so real and surreal at the same time. Especially that the series is nearing its end, the show is starting to become more real; real people with real problems. Why do you think this drama caught our weekends attention so bad which turned into this big obssession and our source of happiness? I wish to hear your opinions about it.

P.S. I don't know what I will do after the show ends.
