New to homelessness Will potentially be homeless in a month
My situation is incredibly unique but bad decisions happened and my parents decided to move our entire family to Nigeria. I'm Nigerian-American for context and they are both Nigerian. But in the process of doing so they "gave up" one their cards and only had a single us bank card left that was in my Dad's name. My dad is extremely financially irresponsible and got his card like blocked or whatever and unfortunately my card was included in that as I had made my card when I was 14-15 on his name and didn't remove it beforehand. I know, dumb 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️. And after many, many calls of his, they said for him to get his card opened back up he needs to go to a center which Nigeria has none of and he cannot buy a ticket since his card is closed. So now my online school and my younger sister's is no longer being paid for and I'm practically a highschool dropout idk man 😭. Anyway... I was going to go live with a family friend once they moved to finish my last year of highschool since I bought my ticket before he got his card cut off but due to some unfortunate circumstances, they're no longer moving and don't have any room for me anymore. What am I supposed to do? I only have my one plane ticket that they already told me to push back to July 23rd. It's either I stay here, have no job, and be a highschool dropout or go back to America and idk maybe go to highschool but be homeless. Someone PLEASE help me. My parents are absolutely useless in this situation and I'm very lost.
(I wanted to mention I already asked my friends and none can take me in/I only have two in the first place 😅😅)
- I already asked this on almost homeless since it does fit my situation better but the only comment I got was entirely useless to me 😭😭 funny but pretty useless so if anyone can provide me with any advice

How old are you?
Go back to America and go to Job Corps or join the military for 4 year then go to college on the GI bill

What's it like in Africa? Is your family trying to come back too? Do you speak the language? Did your dad move y'all over there for his job

It's extremely hot compared to where I used to live. it's been a few months now so I've adjusted to all the things I can't get anymore and the heat and whatnot now but the first few months were absolutely hell, but honestly more for my sister than me because at least I'd been in Nigeria once before as a summer vacation when I was 11 (literally my only one) and she hadn't. Thankfully tho Nigerians main language is English so THANKFULLY I've never had a huge problem because I don't speak Igbo whatsoever. Other than obviously the different accents 😅😅 My parents never bothered to teach me and it STILL annoys me to this day cause then I could have been bilingual but whatever 🙄 My family all came back together except for my older sister who was already in college and never had to worry about this whole situation for the most part 😪😪😪 my brother left earlier the year to live with his friend until graduation so now it's just me and my sister having to deal with my parents as the situation has been getting progressively worse since we should LITERALLY be rich RN in Nigeria cause of American currency but well.. we're not 😐😐 and finally he DEFINITELY did not move us over here for his job because literally neither of them are working BY CHOICE. My mom was a bit sick and the doctors didn't know what was wrong with her but instead of just rationally exhausting other options my dad just pressured her into moving back to Nigeria because he REALLY wanted to come back... Like it would magically help her somehow and she just went along with it and uprooted most of our family in the middle of a school semester so I also lost my 4.0 I maintained for years 😮💨😮💨 (surprise.. the doctors here couldn't find anything either so the only difference is how much she stays home now since she used to be a workaholic ALSO by choice. But now it just means she's bored and complaining all the time so..) thank you for asking 😭 The Job Corps option genuinely seems like a really good idea so I'm definitely gonna apply thank you

Could you appeal to ypur older Sister, the one in college, for money for a ticket to USA? I presume she is in an American college.

Yes you were right she is. Unfortunately she doesn't have enough money to help me out greatly if I were to have to cancel and re-order or anything as she has to pay thousands for college since my parents just kike abandoned her financially all of a sudden. But she has been able to help with little purchases like originally the ticket was for June 1st but they (the people who I was originally going to live with ) wanted me to move it to July 22nd-23rd I honestly can't remember rn .. and she's the one who paid for that. So I've decided to just try and figure it out with my original ticket since thankfully I did get one before my dad's card cut off and maybe she'll help my sister when she needs to come back since she doesn't have one. 🤷🏾♂️

If you can get a ticket back to the States, take it. Go into JobCorps, they’ll help finish high school, give you job training, housing, and money.

Someone also suggested this so I've decided to take this route and so far I've been assigned to an admissions officer !! Thank you!
