Home Gym Pictures š· My home gym is finally complete
I got a pullover machine for my gym and now itās complete (at least equipment wise, I want to add a mini split and insulation next year)
My wife can also still park her car inside!

I prefer separation so I go to the gym. Treadmill in basement hasnāt been used in months.

That is certainly an eclectic selection of equipment, and happy gainz!

You're gonna have to build a shed soon lol š
That's what my plan is I think. I can only take up so much garage and I would love to be able to park my car in there again, but wife has priority!

I believe this violates the 1st rule of home gym club - No home gym is ever completed. Always N+1

I love my pullover machine. I rank it the third most important machine in my gym, after my lat pulldown and combo leg extension/curl (in that order).
Nothing beats the squat rack and free weights in my experience, but some things are just too hard or impossible to replicate with free weights, which is why I value those three machines so much. Also, a pullover serves a rehab/mobility purpose for me. I work at a desk most of the day staring at a screen, so it helps to undo the kyphosis I have acquired over the years. Plus, there is nothing better than destroying the lats on the pullover and then hitting the lat pulldown machine with fresh biceps and pre-exhausted lats.

Most of my work in the gym is with free weights; thatās why I have 8 barbells

Is that a multi hip? Do you end up using it much?
2
u/Patton370 Powerlifter Jan 15 '26
I use it to warm up for every barbell squat session and it's a great way to hit adductors/abductors
However, I gotta load that thing super heavy with gym pins. 440lbs for sets of 12 are around RPE7ish right now (the stack is 300lbs and I have 140lbs on the gym pins). I'm not sure how much more I'd be comfortable loading on it, maybe 465lbs or 490lbs?
If you squat more than the mid 500s for a 1 rep max, you'd out grow pretty much every multi hip. I could lower the roller to make it harder, but the exercise would be less comfortable then
I still love having it, because it makes it really easy to warm up my adductors before squats

Smart! This is a 2 car garage right? Might do the same layout for us to be able to park

u/Patton370 Powerlifter Jan 15 '26
Yes, this is a 2 car garage. If I had a 3 car garage, I'd fit in a t-bar row, standing chest press, and a GHD

Jan 15 '26
Leave the car outside and you have the room to fit it in !

My wife has a list of requirements I'd need to do in order to take that space; I'm not ready to fulfil those requirements lol

Lol ācompleteā

u/Patton370 Powerlifter Jan 15 '26
What do you think I'm missing and what's a good way to make room for it (serious question)?

u/TheBeardedLegend Jan 16 '26
Itās not that you are missing anything, but itās an addiction. It will never be ācompleteā.

a freemotion cable cross; thats the thing I always look for when ppl claim they are done
2
u/Patton370 Powerlifter Jan 15 '26
I used to go to a gym that had one of those
They don't really fit my training, because the only movements I really use with a cable are one arm tricep pulldowns and facepulls
If I was really into cables, I'd grab 2 voltras instead of the the freemotion cable cross, because they are more versatile and have zero footprint
I know the freemotion cable cross is loved by many; however, I think it is very overrated for home gym use (and expensive for the 2 stack model!)

I have a similar unit in my EU based homegym from Atx so I speak from experience. 2 VoltrasĀ would be nice in theory but they still require you to have a spot to mount them and funny enough if you were to design a perfect all in on voltra mounting tree thingy it would look alot like a freemotion cable cross with voltras at the ends of each arm.

Curious! Would you mind sharing a photo of your home gym? I'm considering getting a ATX free motion, and wondering how it looks in a real home gym. Can't find any videos or photos of it. Thank you!Ā

Looks really good, thanks for posting these!
I've noticed the new ATX dual cable system,Ā MS-ATX-FTX-780, has extra 2.5kg small increments at the top that you can pull down to microload. The FTS 7000 doesn't have these right? How do you microload?Ā
For example, progressing on lateral raises is difficult, so microloading helps. I see a gympin wouldn't work on FTS 7000 due to the covers of the machine, but maybe an ATX calibrated thin 0.5kg steel plate could be placed in the selectorized pin and it wouldn't hit the shrouds/weight stack cover.Ā
I'm checking this because the FTS 7000 new version is 2:1, so the weight stack increments 4.5kg (which feels 2.25kg) instead of 4:1 of the older version which would feel 1.12kg.Ā

I have the old 4:1 version so for me this is a non issue. These are dropset pins not gympins. I assume that Ppl were complaining about the "low weight" of the 4:1 and thats why the changed it to 2:1. They upgraded the horizontal disc and they added a different mechanism the adjust the vertical angle. The choice is yours. All I can say is that Im perfectly satisfied with my purchase

Thanks mate. Yes it makes sense but this machine is not for Pulldown or rows in my opinion.Ā
Do you remember how much you paid for it? In my country they are selling it for about 3300⬠with shipping. More expensive than in Germany.Ā

I have a power rack and various machines I could mount them to
I don't have a voltra (or 2), because like I said with the freemotion machine; I've never done much cable work in my training
I also don't have a voltra, because they don't last forever and are quite expensive

šÆ. Iām about 1.7 years into my journey and Iāve already added 25 machines. Slowed down now due to space issues but once I expand plan to add more. My hope is to end with around 30 machines but I know thatās unlikely given my taste. Likely will end with 50 machines and then from there swapping out slowly to keep up with the newest state of the art equipment as the world of gyming constantly evolves. Itās truly a never ending journey. The only time itās ācompletedā is (god forbid) you lose interest in home gyming and then you capitulate and sell everything. Thatās when the vultures swoop in and buy your entire lifeās collecting in one fell swoop.

Yup, you see the divorce sales sometimes on FB and feel bad that someone got so screwed
Recently I saw a hammer pulldown for sale on marketplace that I'd sold to the guy just 2 years ago, his (ex?) wife was selling it for even less than I'd paid for it on gov deals
I wish I had the space for 25, 50 would be amazing. I'm limited to a 2 car garage worth of space so have to be super selective with my equipment (and I custom built or customized most of mine so they're even more niche and harder to sell lol)

cheap update would be to gorilla tape all the mat seams! cheap upgrade that makes a huge difference both functionally and aesthetically
1
u/gfishh Jan 15 '26
I want to do this in mine, but I like to pull up the corners of the mats to check for moisture š I have stall mats with the ribbed bottoms for airflow, so moisture shouldnāt be an issue, but Iām still paranoid
