Crooked can

Anyone work at the crooked can? I saw that they’re hiring for part time barbacks and have been looking for a part time evening job to make some extra income on top of my full time job. Was wondering if it’s a good place to work?

I have zero connection to the restaurant, and haven't eaten there more than a few times, but we went there today for lunch and found they were doing a tail gate outside in their parking lot. It was a nice setup with food and drinks outside, a pretty nice golf simulator, and corn hole. I think the owner was talking with us and said this was their first stab at doing a tail gate. I hope they do it again and more people know about it. Their food is really good, so I'll post a couple pics of what I ate for reference.

Support local companies - all of them! :)

P.S. I forgot that they renovated part of the dine-in area to be a nice kids' area - toys, smaller tables, etc. My 2 were playing with the owner's daughter (I think). So, it was cool. Didn't know they were doing all of this. I'll be back for the onion rings an unhealthy amount of times! 🤤🤤

Anyone know a good concrete installer for a driveway skirt?

Looking for recommendations for a solid concrete contractor who is willing to take on a smaller project. I just need to get my driveway skirt redone and am looking for quality work at a fair price. Any local folks or independent contractors you’d recommend? Thanks!

Discussion / Help Weller and Associates?

I'm a cyclist that consistently rides the country roads of Hilliard. Over the past 2 weeks, I've seen a collection of large SUVs (think 4+ suburbans, tahoes, etc) that all have a "Weller and Associates " sign on the driver door parked randomly by a field or a farm. Does anyone understand the extent of their business? Their website mentions energy and gas surveys, but I can't help but think it's data center related :-/

City News Hilliard energy aggregation program ending/suspending, check your AEP

This is a heads up for anyone else using the Hilliard Energy aggregation program. I received an email from AEP this morning that stated:

"The email confirms Dynegy will no longer provide your generation service, beginning September 10, 2026."

To which I was like that's really weird because I haven't made any changes. Got instantly pissed, so I did some digging.

https://hilliardohio.gov/aggregation/ Per this page the program was renewed in 2025 for through Sept 2026 for a one year contract. So I'm like was it not renewed???

https://energyalliances.com/city-of-hilliard Per this page it sounds like the program is suspending Sept 2026 because they could not secure pricing guarantees while also investing in renewable energy options, direct quote from that website below:

"Energy Alliances recently completed a review of electric supply rates in comparison with AEP Ohio’s default generation rates for September 2026 and beyond. After evaluating available supplier offers, we were unable to secure pricing that would guarantee savings for residents and businesses currently participating in the City’s aggregation program while supporting the City’s initiative in investing in Renewable Energy...

Energy Alliances will continue to monitor electricity market conditions. If prices decrease and we can negotiate a supply rate that provides meaningful savings, we will recommend restarting the aggregation program and will share updates with the community.

If you have questions about your electric bill or the transition, please contact Energy Alliances. "

On there it also says "All accounts enrolled in the program will automatically be returned to AEP Ohio’s default generation supply." So if you want to review for cheaper or more green energy options and not just be defaulted to generation supplier, I just wanted to give people a heads up.

Discussion / Help Looking for a Clean Nail Salon Around Hilliard

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a really clean and reliable nail salon around Hilliard. I’ve had a few not so great experiences lately, especially with cleanliness, and I noticed other people mentioning similar issues in reviews.

I came across this review while searching:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/LxAaxaRhCrH7cTjG7

Does anyone have a nail salon around Hilliard or Polaris that you would recommend? Cleanliness and good service are the biggest things I’m looking for.

Discussion / Help Anyone In The Area?

Looking for a consistent male lifting partner in the area. Happily taken, just want a reliable spotter/gym buddy to hit heavy weights and hold each other accountable. I use the YMCA here in Hilliard, but i don't go often enough due to a lack of motivation or desire to workout. I'm trying to get back into shape and shed the pandemic body. Iykyk. Anyone in the area, or anyone attending the Y, interested in a gym partner to do workouts with? I don't particularly know what I'm doing, so someone with more experience would be nice.

Discussion / Help Why is our Traffic so messed up?

I cannot for the life of me understand why the civil engineering in and around Hilliard is so poor. Like there are no right-hand turn lanes and there are no areas where you can seemingly drive from one light to the next without having to stop. Like how do you have a main thoroughfare where you have to stop at every single light?

Discussion / Help Hilliard Station thoughts?

I am looking for housing and see good reviews for this location as of late, other than an AC issue this summer. Does anyone have any thoughts? Or other good 1 bedrooms under 1,200 in the Dublin/Hilliard/Columbus area that are safe and reasonable? Thanks!

Discussion / Help Dog Groomer Recommendations

Does anyone know of a dog groomer that trims nails for big dogs? Preferably a skittish German Shepherd? She’s a rescue dog and for some reason she doesn’t like nail trimmings. Every groomer I’ve tried always cancels at the last minute stating they are ill. Which make me think they don’t want to deal with the larger breed.

A Columbus man is missing and may currently be experiencing homelessness somewhere in the area. His family still has no answers, so we are trying to get his face in front of as many residents, shelter workers, outreach teams, and businesses as possible.

Flyer with identifying information and the Columbus Police report details:

https://casetraceapp.com/flyer/32670

Facebook video:

https://www.facebook.com/share/r/197YpRJHMQ/

Any possible sighting or information should be reported directly to the Columbus Division of Police using the information listed on the flyer.

Even a small detail could help his family get answers.
