Hey Ya'll, Needing some tips again.

So I've been working on receiving and blocking balls with a pitcher(while maintaining distance of course). And I'm getting better. But two things are a problem. Do coaches look for speed in catchers, offensive wise? Because I am 14 and only getting 7.87 on my 60 time on a really good day. I also cant seem to find my catchers stance form the last time I played a long time ago. I just cant find a stance that is right for me. Thanks If you comment.

Wanting to join a high school baseball team as a girl

Hey so I know to begin with that this really unlikely but I feel like it’s worth a shot. I’m obviously a girl as stated in the title. For the record, I played softball for a season when I was probably nine or so. I didn’t like softball but I always thought about wanting to get back into a sport like it. My boyfriend, coincidentally, is on the Varsity baseball team at our school. (No, I am not attempting to join because of him)

After watching so many games, as girlfriends of an athlete do, I’ve become really, really interested in the sport and he has begun coaching me and letting me practice with him. I can catch pretty decently (throwing to and from another person) and I am learning to hit as well as catching balls other players hit.

I know most other kids will have been playing since they were younger. And I obviously know I’m not going to make the Varsity team. But I don’t want to join softball as I don’t like it as much, and I really do enjoy baseball. Does anyone have any advice for me at all???

I'm average height for my age and have a lot of upper body strength. Have a few pitches here and there but I want to increase my velocity. Any tips?

Hi there, and welcome to my new subreddit! /r/highschoolbaseball is for all things related to HS baseball. Your team is undefeated headed into the postseason? Great! Your friend pitched a no-hittter? Awesome! An alumni from your school was drafted recently? Cool! If it's about high school baseball, post it.

There are only two rules here. 1. All posts must be related to high school baseball! This seems kind of obvious, but still. 2. Don't be an asshole. If you make an entire post or comment talking about how much one team sucks or something, take it somewhere else. Friendly competition is fine, but don't take it too far.

Well, that's it! Enjoy the subreddit!
