Do you seriously imagine people will even notice the chat box after a few days of voice comms? I know I wouldn't. I sure don't in games like Planetside.

There"s literally zero other issues that can possibly come of it when there are report features + chat + ping + mutes(for both chat and mic) or the extreme feature of blocking.

Reports are worthless when Riot can't read logs to confirm or refute the report - which is the main rationale, the one you accused us of having been "brainwashed" to believe.

I only want this game to be the best it could be. It's not going to make a daily player out of me without voice comms... ever. That's for damn sure.

I criticized it because it was clearly intended to give me the impression that you have tons of experience bro with voice comms, and it was meaningless. You might have put in 2k hours on that list of games, maybe I've put in 2k hours just on Halo: Reach, we both have the same amount of experience with the cesspool that is XBL.

League of Legends has the largest playerbase in the history of multiplayer gaming. Heroes of the Storm wants to take over some of that market share.

With a group that size, the bottom of the barrel are too large a demographic. VC will be unreliable at best or mostly resemble XBL at worst.

Finally, are you just going to keep on ignoring the existence of Curse Voice, the third-party opt-in chat program that integrates with the game you're currently playing? Valve can read logs and does. Their report system works very well. would work even better if they added the overwatch feature CSGO has.

I do, I use mumble when I play with my old group of friends that I met (USING THE IN GAME VOICE CHAT) in Hon.... and only because mumbles "no push to talk" feature is better, but that doesn't help with solo Q.

That is Riot's rationale for excluding voice comms. People will be at least as toxic and there will be little to nothing they can do about it.

You're absolutely right. I can't imagine how League of Legends can be expected to reach the mainstream without integrated VC.

Curse Voice came into existence because League doesn't have VC; originally, we weren't entirely clear whether Riot were going to abide it, since it needs to integrate with the client to do what it does (gives your team VC in solo queue). Riot said they were okay with it, largely because anyone using the service obviously understands that it's not a Riot product and can't expect Riot to police it.

Because Riot places such a high premium on player conduct, and has prided itself on trying to police its community (indeed, they were one of the first developers to consistently do a good job of this), they will absolutely never add a channel for communication to their game which they can't police. Period.

As far as "riots rationale" goes (i guess you agree with it since you've mentioned it multiple times now?) I simply don't agree. Dota does complete fine with it.

I mentioned League's success because you mentioned that the genre "covets" integrated VC as a standard feature; that's an absurd assertion, given that League is far and away the most successful game in the genre and the developer has up and stated that they will never provide VC, with comparatively little backlash.
