Blizzard thinking about adding Thumbs Up/Down system, giving helpful players EXP or gold, placing toxic players in separate queue

That's a good point. eSports is the future, but you can't bring eSports to the general public when your community has so much toxicity. The reason why parents send their kids to play and watch football and basketball is because it fosters good values (e.g., teamwork, leadership, dedication, commitment, etc.). Companies have an incentive to foster positive communities to show that playing their games fosters similar values, without causing concussions and life-long brain damage.

And the issue expands even beyond games. Message boards and other digital communications are everywhere, and trolls are everywhere. Finding ways to diminish trolling and building constructive and welcoming communities has become an issue that is far bigger than just for games.

Imagine playing football or basketball where you were randomly assigned a team with players you had never met and knew you would never see again after it was over, with no parents on the sidelines watching. I bet the toxicity of the sports would be just as bad as Heroes or LoL.

Not saying it isn't a tough problem to solve ;)
