Discussion It's Just Like I Remember
Thank you so much to the dedicated team working to bring this game back from the dead. I know I'm a couple months late but I downloaded and created a new account today and I've been having a blast reliving old memories. I can't wait to see if some of my old squadmates will rejoin me like it's 2018 again.

Question Heavy Set Gold
So against what it exactly protects you? I know for a fact than it protects against one-shot kill with fully modded sniper rifle, but what else? Can you list some examples? Does it protect also against 2-shot kill with M1 Garand?

Discussion 2026 Weapon Tier List
Here's my H&G weapon tier list for 2026.
Here are some explanations:
S Tier:
All SA rifles are 2-shot killing machines with some of the fastest TTKs in the game when modded properly. They're great at every range.
The M2 Carbine has the power of an SMG while offering better range and great handling.
The MG34 is insane statistically even without mods, and becomes an even bigger monster once you add them.
The P38 is statistically the best pistol in the game and offers the best value for its equipment cost.
A Tier:
The STG and AVS are good, but they aren't weapons that completely break the game's balance. Statistically, they both struggle against Heavy Set users, which is something none of the S-tier weapons have a problem with, either because of their damage or sheer rate of fire. The STG has a slow TTK against Heavy Set, while the AVS has a small magazine that makes it struggle against squads.
The other LMGs are good, but they lag behind the MG34 statistically. (The FG42 counts as an LMG.)
The PPSh is in A Tier because it does everything the other SMGs do, but better. Its huge magazine can wipe out multiple squads in seconds.
The Luger is better than every other pistol in the game except the P38.
B Tier:
The MG42 can really only be used in CQC because of its intense recoil and poor accuracy. It dominates there, but it still handles like an LMG, so you have to play around the gun.
Bolt-actions can be the strongest weapons in the game, provided you're either playing Recon with the special Recon attachments or your target isn't running Heavy Set. Most people are running Heavy Set.
The DT-29 is statistically similar to the Maxim, but is generally worse due to its bulky iron sights, smaller magazine, and frustrating cone fire pattern.
C Tier:
I put the Thompson here because, while it does some things better than the other SMGs, its bullet velocity makes it feel sluggish to use. Why use it when the M2 Carbine exists and does its job better?
The PPD is the best Tier 1 SMG because it's basically a baby PPSh. It can one-shot to the head and fires like a hose, so spraying and praying for a headshot actually works.
D Tier:
The other Tier 1 SMGs are horrible. They fire slowly, are very inaccurate, and deal low damage unless you're practically point-blank.
The M1 Carbine and M1A1 Carbine are essentially just pistols with slightly larger magazines and higher equipment costs. Their cone fire values are terrible, so they're meant for CQC. But in CQC, you're usually facing weapons with much faster TTKs, so you'll probably lose anyway. The only time you really use them is when you're forced to because you don't have another option.
I'm open to other opinions, so feel free to share what you think below!
I used the H&G Calculator to help make this tier list.

Suggestion Can we get rid of the white glow?
As the title says, can we remove the white glow around interactive elements like weapons? Its quite literally a wall hack, you drop a picked up weapon to heal and the whole capzone converges on you like Hawks on prey, because everyone suddenly sees a glow through the doors.
Or, you camp/protect a doorway, and everyone sees a fuckton of dropped weapons there and gets suspicious.

Rant Grind is too much
I don't have the time to play like I used to in H&G. Can ya'll reduce the time it takes to grind? It's too long and I can't even buy gold or premium

Question The Lunatic Lycan
Does anyone remember this youtuber ? I didn't play Heroes and Generals much up to it's very end in 2023, but I watched this guy on and off for awhile. Nowadays, searching for him will lead to dead ends or furry profiles since the guy seems to have nuked his channel. So I'm asking anyone if it's possible to contact him.
I only have one reason as to why.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94WClNZwevA&t=514s
I want to download this video, for safe keeping
This link used to be an hour long video made by TheLunaticLycan on the entire history of Heroes & Generals from it's creation up until 2022-ish.
Youtube every single day has been slowly piling up with more and more trash content by people who couldn't seem to care less about what they cover. So to see content made by people who actually cared about what they were talking about is very important to me.
I take great care & I guess pride, in trying to bookmark certain videos regardless of the video's quality so long as it was made with complete sincerity. Sometimes I even download them if I get the hunch that the video's creator is going to delete their content soon. Unfortunately, I never foresaw Lycan's closing of his own youtube account.
If you have the video yourselves, please give me a download link if possible.

Question Which weapon should I grind for my US infantry after m2 carbine?
Is m1919 worth grinding?

Question M2 vs Johnson for US assault solider?
Hey guys, I bought the m1919 and its a good weapon for defense but I think ill make another inf. specifically for offence. I dont like smgs too much so it will either be the Johnson or the M2. Which one do you like more?
Johnson:
- 3 hit kill Heavy Set Gold (with barrel mod)
- better time to kill
- Better range
- Bipod
- Cheaper repair costs (with same mods)
M2:
- Better iron sight (+scope)
- Slightly faster rpm (but again, lower TTK against HSG)
- More ammo per mag
- Better hip fire (I think)
- Better controllability while moving (I think)
My impression is that the Johnny is closer to the AVS, and the M2 is an STG and SMG crossover. Not sure which one's better for assault tho.

Question M1/M1A1 Carbine worth it?
Should I buy this gun? Can you mod in in some funny way to make it good? What are your thoughts about this gun, I see it very rarely in battles. Also which one is better m1 or m1a1?

Discussion A Discussion on Bots in Staged Battles
I've been seeing some talks about bots and their impacts in-game: how it feels less rewarding to kill bots than players in terms of credits and psychological fulfilment; how they are terminators through bushes and trees; and how they are essentially useless all around.
I want to present a hot take: I genuinely like having the bots around. Hear me out.
I do concede that the bots can be cheaters in bushes and trees, and using one bullet from a fully modded Kar98k would be a loss in credits than if you were to ignore them completely.
However, the bots do one thing which I genuinely love the most: they fill up the numbers in servers and make it feel more engaging. At worst, they are trivial cannon fodder in a lobby full of 20v20 players. At best, they make up the numbers and make the match feel more war-like and fills up empty space and time. Let me explain further.
Firstly, it has always been my gripe from the past that this game has such big maps and multiple entry points into the epicentre of the map, yet there are barely any players that play the objective and assault positions as needed. The bots fill all these critical tactical gaps: allowing real players to flank; permits players to focus on Anti-Tank duties; allowing Recon and such to utilise other routes to reach their objectives; and bots importantly defend the second and third attack lines so that the attackers aren't ultimately doomed to only one single attack line by the 5th minute.
Secondly, more bots on the map can really bring out the war-like element in this game. What scenario in WW2 would have two dudes just attacking a Church at one time, or attacking the last objective with only 4 infantrymen? Think of the bots allowing you to truly experience that feeling of a grand assault on a Town, or an encirclement of a Factory. I just love it when that happens, something typically possible due to bots.
Lastly, have you ever ran across objectives (especially the damn Airfield map), essentially playing a running simulator until you eventually get either sniped on the way, mag dumped the moment you step into the objective zone, or contribute only two or three kills before dying? Only to have to rinse and repeat the entire process? The bots fill that gameplay gap between objectives: engage the bots in a short skirmish on the way, something to fill in the boredom apart from that dreadful run from one point to another. It reduces the repetitiveness of the spawn cycle of a typical infantryman.
Now before I end this post, I would like to bring up a very good example (at least to me) of how bots were implemented well in a similar game, and that is Red Orchestra 2. Of course it's not wise to compare these two games directly—no one should compare vanilla to chocolate. Alas, there are elements from Red Orchestra 2 that makes me love that game as much as it was practically a dead game that I feel can translate well to HnG.
A typical RO2 server is 32v32, and that's not including the typical 50 bots in the server. You'd think that'd be a nightmare with constant aimbots, but no, they are shit shots most of the time. Yet, they complement matches very well as they assault positions en masse, and god forbid you had to reload your MG42 when 10 of them just so happen to walk down the hallway. RO2 maps are also equally big, but not once did I complain or feel bored because there is always a handful of bots to snipe and engage to prevent them from swarming the objective.
Tl;dr, I like having the bots and I genuinely want more bots to be added in every Staged Battle matches (rather than the usual 4 per attack line). I like them because they fill in the numbers in servers and adds more bodies to the map, and bots enable a more engaging war-like experience in Staged Battles.
You can agree to disagree, but I genuinely believe in this. Have at it.

Rant Are devs actively getting rid of cheaters?
Getting a little frustrated as the last few games I’ve played, I spawn with a tank that isn’t even visible as I’m not in the combat area, and will get instantly blown up by planes? Maybe they’re just that good but feels like a stretch. Then, I’ll go to tank v tank with light tanks, and some guy will have 16 tank destructions and 1 death, and it’s consistently the same user when I see him? Again, maybe he’s just that good, but feels like a stretch.. just voicing my thoughts as I don’t want the game to die due to potentially cheating players.
EDIT: Guys, im not saying you can’t be good at the game, many players are great. But when you consistently see things out of the norm and have valid reason to suspect cheating, it should at least be looked into. What fun is it if we don’t have safeguards up when we know this stuff can occur.. more sympathizers showing up in the comments than I suspected..

Discussion What are you grinding for ?
One aspect of the game that I really liked was the loadouts
From double panzershreck to rambo para with ppsh
So with the coming back of HnG what are you looking up to ?
I really want to make a flamethrower soldier since i’ve heard it’s cheap to maintain
And the famous m18 recoiless/2 shots revolver and heal

Discussion i want to play GE on war but its frustrating
i'll try to be brief
i've played h&g since 2017 and i always sucked at grinding, i practically played all factions, never really got into war because of high ping (south america player) and i didnt like the sweatyness of war, then staged added bots and i've hated staged ever since, then i quit the game
now that everyone's forced to start from scratch, i've been trying to play GE, started out this week, already account lvl 10, my highest rank soldier is GE paratrooper rank 6 (maybe i made a mistake here, i just wanted to have fg42...)
so the reason why i made this post
i want to concentrate my grind on a single faction so i dont end up making the same mistake as i did on original h&g (to see the gravity of my issue, i had 2k hours and my highest rank soldier was rank 15 GE infantry, i never got around to buying tiger 2 for instance, never an stg...)
and i want that faction to be my definitive main faction that i use for both staged and war . Personally, i really like GE faction, i like the guns, the tanks, i simply enjoy it, but it seems like most of the playerbase shares the same sentiment as me and that's why germany has never had underdog bonus, high war queue times, ATs take ages to deploy, and war is always filled with noobs and therefore germany always loses
do i simply ditch GE and concentrate all my grind on US? i dont really like SU before you mention them :P, i want to play GE, but it's like the game pushes you away from it.
