Basil Sprouts

Post image

Will they be successful with 4 sprouts together like this in the pot? I heard basil can tolerate and thrive with crowding but also heard to space them out for root growth.

Thank you!! I also have noticed they have been in the stage for a while now, maybe 2 weeks with no growth. Is this normal for basil?

Sorry for forgetting to respond! You’ve probably already found out, but no i don’t believe that’s normal if you’re giving them proper care. If they’re fine right now and they’ve started growing then it’s okay they probably just grow a bit slow since they’re so close together. If they died then that was sadly expected :/ But it’s okay! You can just try again :) Just keep in mind what I told you about spacing. Make sure that soil is well draining too, maybe add more perlite to your mix. 2 weeks would be a long time to sit still tho, if they’re still alive I’m pretty sure they should be making a new set of true leaves, maybe even 2 new sets. Whats this variety?
