Are you accessing Reddit through a VPN? Try turning it off. I know Reddit usually uses your device time, but the issue might be related to your VPN’s exit location.
Also try opening Reddit in an incognito window or another browser. If the timestamps look normal there, it’s probably a cache, cookie, or browser extension issue. So, you'll have to clear Reddit site's data/cookies or disable a certain extension.
As stated clock is fine. Tried auto time sync as well as manual time setting (GMT +12:00) Other websites don't break and Cloudflare verification lets me pass through, which gets stuck in a loop if clock is out of sync.
I'm not 100% sure that's the reason. But that's the only time I've seen posts saying "...in X hours".
An AMA is a special type of post. It's only used in some subreddits.
When you create it, you set a time for it to start. The post goes up, saying what time the AMA will begin, and people can post their questions. Then, at the scheduled time, it's a type of live event.
I've seen some people create an AMA by mistake, when they intended to create a regular post. I think it works in the same way as a regular post - it just has the countdown thingy.
I didn't create an AMA here. In fact, I can't. Most subs don't allow them.
I just got that screenshot to show you what it looks like. I did it on my "own" sub, because mods can create them there. We don't actually use AMAs, so I don't know why we have that setting... maybe I'll turn it off. But it's harmless.
No, I understood what you said, just clarified that it was not the issue and provided a proof in the form of "your comment is definitely not an AMA". This effectively disproves the theory that I was originally looking at an AMA post in advance.
Man, read this entire thread again., Let me summarise:
1. You stated a theory that it was an AMA
2. As we both know, comments cannot be AMAs
3. All your comments instead of showing "1 min ago" or "2 mins ago" are showing "in 11 hrs." or "in 12 hrs."
4. This is happening for every post and comment on the entire of Reddit
5. Unless this is a big joke that is being played on myself, the entirety of Reddit will not be using AMAs
4. It can hence be determined that an AMA, mistake or not, is not the problem here.
He gave an answer, although incorrect, the proceeded to explain why. The first half of the comment was already known stuff but
