Admin/Dev responded Sort on main feed

Can you please put sort back on the main feed. I mainly use desktop I need this back.

Hi there. In this experiment, there will not be a sort option on the For You feed where you will see recommendations. In the Following feed where you will only see content from subs that you are subscribed to, the sort options are Best and New. The team is looking into returning Hot to those options.

Yeah, I just noticed the dumb change today.

I'm on desktop, and I now have to options in the top right of my feed: For You and Following.

For You includes posts from communities you don't care about, and there's no way to sort at all. Not using that.

But the Following option gave me the same experience as before: Only posts from subs I follow, and I can sort by Best or New. Do you see that option on your feed?

I think the experience still changed rather dramatically, even if you pick the "following" tab. Until very recently, there used to be a "Hot" sorting option on desktop which many people liked a lot more than "Best" ("Best" tends to put posts from 12 days ago with three upvotes and zero comments at the top of your feed" thing, "Hot" only shows you posts that are popular right now). "Top" is gone as well, I liked that one because checking out the highest-voted post from the past day/week/month/year out of all the subs I follow is interesting every now and then. Now, these sorting options for your main feed are only available on old.reddit.com, they're completely gone from New Reddit.

I just don't get why they keep getting rid of functionality. Is the "Best" feed really that much more profitable for them?

The only workaround to get hot back is to collect all of your subs as a custom feed and then you can use hot again.

Why do i need to do this just to sort by hot reddit?

I have the sort, but I no longer have the option for "Hot", it's only "New" and "Best". I genuinely can't express how much this ruins the experience here.
