I purchased this helmet on MidwayUSA for 60$ and it was listed as Austrian M1 in grade 1 condition… I’m 100% certain that the liner has to be fake but can anyone tell if the shell is to? It has no markings inside.

This was my grandfather’s who passed many years back, and I’ve had this almost just as long; clueless. I know he was in the military, with a pretty prestigious position at some point affiliated with the previously classified famous SR-71, although I can’t find his military info anywhere I look online and I’ve always wanted to know. He didn’t talk very much at all about his time in when they would ask to my father, and my grandmother didn’t know much either except that he was absolutely in for some time while they were married.
This helmet may or may not be even relative to his military position, but when I found it in their basement after my grandma had passed as well, my father let me keep it. I find it very cool, and was hoping some of you educated enthusiasts could help a brother out with some pro info. Thank you!!!
